About this research
As the most visible face of the company, the CEO role gets more
attention than any other role. Yet there are some aspects about
CEOs such as their educational background, international
experience, etc. that are not very well-documented. We set out
to answer some of these questions in this analysis.
We looked at public-domain data from company websites,
LinkedIn, as well as reputable news sources such as
Bloomberg. Our research was limited to demographic
information such as time in position, age, gender, education, etc.
since that could be obtained from the public domain sources.
Key factors that drive the CEO’s success (such as leadership
and decision-making styles, relationships with the Board etc.)
are unfortunately not available in the public domain, although
several articles have been published on these topics.
In a few cases, we made inferences to arrive at data points e.g.
where age was not available, we inferred it based on year of
graduation and/ or year of first job.
The research was conducted in February - March 2019.
This research is intended for informational purposes only. Due to
the nature of this type of social research, there can be cases
where the data, or our inference thereof, is not accurate. No
warranty is provided or implied on the accuracy of this data.

  • 14. About this research As the most visible face of the company, the CEO role gets more attention than any other role. Yet there are some aspects about CEOs such as their educational background, international experience, etc. that are not very well-documented. We set out to answer some of these questions in this analysis. We looked at public-domain data from company websites, LinkedIn, as well as reputable news sources such as Bloomberg. Our research was limited to demographic information such as time in position, age, gender, education, etc. since that could be obtained from the public domain sources. Key factors that drive the CEO’s success (such as leadership and decision-making styles, relationships with the Board etc.) are unfortunately not available in the public domain, although several articles have been published on these topics. In a few cases, we made inferences to arrive at data points e.g. where age was not available, we inferred it based on year of graduation and/ or year of first job. The research was conducted in February - March 2019. This research is intended for informational purposes only. Due to the nature of this type of social research, there can be cases where the data, or our inference thereof, is not accurate. No warranty is provided or implied on the accuracy of this data. 13© Insightory Inc. 2019. All rights reserved.
