8. Hitachi’s portfolio encompasses the entire patient care pathway
Our innovative technologies address concerns our customers
face everyday
‒ Over-sized patients can be imaged, limited floor space can be
overcome, explosive growth can be managed, inoperable tumors can
be treated
Without a solid, reliable infrastructure achieving a connected
health facility is virtually impossible
Key Points
11. Unstructured content volumes are exploding
The need to store, manage and access many types of unstructured content in the course
of care delivery, including but not limited to medical images, still photographs, video and
audio recordings and free text reports and notes is growing
Extending the storage and efficiency benefits of a VNA to additional departments in the
health system and an expanded set of unstructured contents types, such as photographs,
video, audio, text and other formats is desired
There is an unmet need for an unstructured content repository for the enterprise, storing
all types of unstructured content in a patient-centric manner that makes it available to both
clinical and image management systems.
There is a need to unite related unstructured content captured in other systems with the
patient-centric information being captured in the electronic health record (EHR) to form a
longitudinal record of unstructured content associated with the patient's medical treatment
The Next Generation Patient Data Repository
12. Connected Health Solutions

Future-proof infrastructure for end-to-end data mining
Hitachi Clinical Repository
14. Data is being generated from numerous types of devices,
applications, locations and stakeholders
‒ Wearable devices, medical imaging, chemical assays…
Managing this data is key to enabling a connected health
enterprise
Adding analysis to this data brings further value and enhances
decision making
Key Points

19. Healthcare workflow is static – it requires someone to do
something in order for action to be taken
‒ HDS/ThoughtWire turn discrete events into actions
Hospitals are looking to go digital without major investments
‒ HDS can retrofit a hospital with our partners easily and cheaply
Hitachi has the solutions to deliver these technologies via the
cloud

Hitachi’s Integrated Information Platform brings all of this together, Unified information access is the technology that bridges the gap between structured data and unstructured content.
We bring together data tables and content
Users access needed data and/or content using a variety of end user tools, including:
Google-like simple search user interfaces (UI’s),
popular BI tools (TIBCO Spotfire, Tableau, QlikView, etc.),
At query time, AIE will automatically JOIN and present all related data and content, with no data modeling or pre-joining of information in advance.
Other optional processing includes performing
sentiment analysis;
behavioral analytics (recommendation engine) to offer recommendations and analysis of patient behavior
automatic classification/categorization of content and more.
We present it with complete security: AIE ensures each user can only access the data and content he or she is allowed to see, enabling HIPAA compliance
