A conference was held at Aarhus University from November 14-16, 2013 that focused on user-driven production, DIY activities, participatory planning, and social entrepreneurship. The conference addressed the increased participation in cultural studies and evaluated the positive political, cultural, and social impacts of this trend as well as when citizen participation becomes socially transformative. On 14-16 November 2013, Aarhus University hosted a conference that focussed on the potential of user-
driven production, DIY, participatory planning and social entrepreneurship. The conference addressed the
participatory turn in cultural studies and asked: How do we understand and evaluate the positive political,
cultural and social potential in this development and when is citizen participation socially transformative?
Based on my Master's Thesis I gave a lecture on ”Participatory art as a socially inclusive initiative for art
institutions”.
