  2. 2. Luca Pozzoli Luca graduated in Nuclear Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano. He has extensive experience in the financial and payments sector, working at consulting firms and payment processors. He joined NTT DATA in 2011 and today, as a Vice President of Consulting, he leads the Banking and Payments practice. He helps clients define their omnichannel transformation strategy for new digital products and channels of payment systems and banking compliance. Andrea Severo Baiguini Andrea served in leading Italian and international financial institutions. He was responsible for delivering Digital Transformation projects in Banks and Asset Management. Andrea acted, among others, as Group head of Program Management, Head of Architecture & Data Management, and Head of Enterprise Architecture. Andrea has a deep knowledge of a broad range of technology- intensive services. He is responsible for the Digital Assets initiatives in Banca Mediolanum, chairs the group innovation committee, is a member of the technical commission of Assogestioni, and is part of the Steering committee for the CeTIF Blockchain Ecosystem. He participates in scouting and research initiatives.

  4. 4. HOW DID WE CREATE NEW IDEAS? AND HOW DID WE MAKE SURE ALL EMPLOYEES WERE INVOLVED IN THE INNOVATION PROCESS? Banca Mediolanum has involved all employees in the Bonus Pool 2022 challenge. The groups were able to think creatively and proactively, coming up with current, practical and innovative ideas.

Business analyst enables an enterprise to articulate its needs, rationale for change and to design and describe solutions that can deliver value.

  8. 8. 62 emerging ideas were collected during the first project phase. They all exemplify people’s expertise and a genuine willingness to take on new challenges. The emerging ideas were all interesting and valuable. They were numerous and also diversified. The variety of themes suggested demonstrated the proactive engagement of most of the organizational functions. The success of the preceding edition represented a robust starting point for setting up this edition. In particular, it has helped build a journey to generate new ideas that would follow the best practices for startups. THE DEVELOPMENT OF NEW IDEAS
  9. 9. THE DEVELOPMENT OF NEW IDEAS The different ideas collected were analyzed and properly clustered in order to be evaluated in the following phases of the project. Customer Environment Community Company Business Development Go to market Engagement & employees’ involvement Innovation Environmental impact and sustainability The ideas were clustered according to the 5 Pillars of Mediolanum Bank (customers, environment, community, company, and business development). The trend for each pillar is represented below. The ideas were also clustered according to 4 innovation drivers.   10. 10. THE EVOLUTION OF THE IDEAS The group were able to channel their attention and competencies through an EVOLUTIONARY JOURNEY THAT ALLOWED IDEAS TO BE PLACED IN A REAL CONTEXT AND STIMULATE A PERSPECTIVE TOWARDS THE FUTURE.
  11. 11. THE EVOLUTION OF THE IDEAS The initial ideas suggested went through an in-depth evaluation process through which the most appropriate ones were selected, sharpened and eventually finalized. The first 62 ideas presented at the Bonus Pool 2022 were scrutinized in-depth according to the 5 Pillars of Mediolanum Bank: «The client», «The Sales Network», «The Company», «The Community», «The Environment». Based on these 5 key criteria, 30 ideas were selected. Then, the 30 ideas were further examined according to 4 innovation drivers: «Innovation», «Go-to-market», «Engagement & Employees’ involvement», and «Environmental impact and sustainability». Based on these 4 criteria, 18 ideas were selected. The final 18 ideas got through the last phase of the project: the creation of the video pitch.
  12. 12. THE EVOLUTION OF THE IDEAS During the third and final phase of the Bonus Pool 2022, the 18 final ideas flowed into the "Pitch“. This pitch, evaluated by a jury of experts, contains a series of steps to take when developing an idea that could be worthy of being considered a “winning” idea. OPPORTUNITY IDENTIFICATION By identifying an opportunity, it is easier to find a solution.Furthermore, the solution becomes stronger if many people understand the need to solve that problem. SOLUTION DEFINITION It should be strong enough to solve the problem. It also stimulates an interest in the project according to its characteristics. MARKET RESEARCH It shows the economic potential that the idea could have, with regard to TAM, SAM and SOM. BUSINESS MODEL A descriptive model of how the project intends to generate revenues by providing its product or service to the customers COMPETITORS A benchmark that helps identify similar ideas in the market, understand the advantagesand disadvantagesand how the latter can work to your advantage THE TEAM The team is introduced, and everyone can give their contribution regarding the ideas presented. This allows a strong engagement of team members ECONOMIC ASPECTS A detailed analysis of costs, revenues, gross operating margin, cash flow, break-even point, etc.

  14. 14. THE AWARD CEREMONY The completion of the Bonus Pool 2022 will be properly celebrated in NTTDATA’s offices in Milan. On this occasion, the winning ideas will be awarded according to BMED’s values, with a cash prize conferred by the jury during a formal ceremony. Banca Mediolanum is among the first companies to invest time and money in such innovation-driven initiatives.
