  2. 2. Do you interact with students in any way? Do you see how providing them counsel and advise does not cause them to take responsibility for their actions and be accountable? If so, learning some fundamental coaching techniques would definitely be beneficial for you both.
  3. 3. Helping clients create their own solutions to challenges is the main objective of coaching. People are able to hold one other and themselves accountable because to it. The questions that advisors and coaches pose to clients include:
  4. 4. 1.Determine the student's current circumstance. 2.the state they prefer 3. a strategy for getting there.
  5. 5. One of the most difficult components of coaching for other educated helping professions is understanding that coaches don't "inform" or "give answers." They provide open-ended, non-leading questions to students in an effort to get them to reflect on their own thinking, think about problems from various perspectives, and develop their own solutions.
  6. 6. Howard Irvin has worked successfully with several educational institutions for more than 20 years. Howard Irvin is presently the vice president for student services at Chabot College in Hayward, California.
