As colleges are under increasing pressure to support the diverse needs of students, CRM can support an institution’s understanding of student enrollment choices, retention, and overall achievement. AACRAO’s 2014-2015 State of CRM Use in Higher Education Report, which was conducted among more than 600 enrollment management and admissions professionals, was designed to measure the extent of ownership of CRM applications at higher ed institutions and to assess their impacts on practice, policy, and staffing.

  1. 1. Many institutions use CRM to manage their day-to-day functions like recruitment & registration. However, many colleges & universities do not use CRM across the full student lifecycle. The narrative below provides a snapshot of current CRM use among more than 600 institutions. 2014-2015: STATE OF CRM USE IN HIGHER EDUCATION How Higher Ed Institutions Can Maximize CRM Most Institutions use CRM Nearly 2/3 of respondents reported that their institution owns and uses at least one CRM. 62% of those own more than one. 64%! 62%! Most institutions use CRM for recruitment and admissions. 56% Career Services were the least likely to be supported by CRM.  Of those who do not own a CRM, 42% are considering acquiring one. 42% !

CRM: Essential Institutional Technology How Higher Ed Institutions Can Maximize CRM For most departments or functions, 3/4 or more of respondents indicated that their CRM-supported processes are both easier and take less time. Most (59%) indicated their perceived level of overall success with their CRM was “Moderately Successful.”  >75%! 59%! Most colleges and universities believe they aren’t using CRM to its fullest potential. indicated that their institution is not maximizing the use of CRM.  reported using CRM to support the full student lifecycle. Three-fourths (75%) ! Only 3% !
