2. 5G wireless system(Introduction)
5G stands for 5th Generation wireless systems.
Complete wireless communication with almost no limitations.
It is highly supportable to WWWW(Wireless World Wide Web).
It will provide speed of at least 1Gb/s between 2 nodes globally.

3.  Drawbacks of 4G
 Spectrum crisis
 High energy consumption
 High speed train users : 4G is limited only up to 250 km/h
 Need complex hardware
 Hard to implement

4. Key ideas of designing 5G cellular architecture is :
 Separate indoor and outdoor scenarios using DAS and Massive MIMO
Technology.
 Use of Wi-fi,Femtocell,VLC and mm-wave-communication for indoor users.
 Pervasive networks providing ubiquitous computing.

 Less burden on outside base stations antennas => less power consumption.
 Green communication(less CO2 emission).
 Adapting 5G CR network concept :
Software defined radio technique.
efficient use of congested RF spectrum.
 Internet protocol version 6 (IPv6), where a visiting care-of mobile IP address

It contains three technologies : -

8. Nanotechnology
 Controlling any process between 0.1nm to 100nm
 MNT deals with control of structure of matter based on
atom by atom.
 It will impact on both mobile as well as core network.

It can be divided into three segments:-
 Application
• Based on , on demand software service.
 Platform
• Refers to products that are used to deploy internet.

 Infrastructure
• Infra. vendorsG environment allows user to build application.
i.e. cloud storage –amazon’s S3.

10. All flat IP core concept
 Key concept to make 5G acceptable to all kind of
technologies.
 Reduce the number of network elements in the
data path -> less complexity
 Minimizes system latency
 Provides a way to identify devices using
symbolic names unlike hierarchical architecture
such as that used in normal IP address.

Provides large broadcasting of data in gigabit, supporting almost 100
billion connection.
 High speed, high capacity, and low cost per bit.
 Global access, service portability, and scalable mobile services.
 Ultra high clarity in audio as well as HD-video communication.
 The Router and switch technology used in 5G network would
provide high connectivity for wireless gadgets.

12. Live 5G projects
The project: UK-CHINA Science Bridges : (B)4G Wireless mobile Communications

Europe and china have also initialized 5G projects – METIS 2020
(http://www.metis2020.com/) supported by ministry of science and
technology(MOST) in china.
Huawei is likely to bring 5G services in 2020.

13. Major challenges
Integration of various standards: Each engineering practice has their own standard, To integrate these various standards,
requires systematic and time consuming approach.
Common Platform: There is no common architecture for interconnecting various engineering practices. One common governing
body is required, which creates a common platform for all engineering practices to regularize the interconnectivity issues as well
as knowledge sharing.

14. conclusions
5G technology is going to be a new revolution in wireless systems market.
As data traffic has tremendous growth potential, under 4G existing voice centric
telecom hierarchies will be moving flat IP architecture where, base stations will
be directly connected to media gateways.
5G would introduce artificial intelligence to mobile telecommunication.
