1. Here, the first logo that I decided to look at was Marvel
Studios who used a sans serif font to make it more appealing
for a younger audience to look at whilst still looking
professional. The composition allows the logo to be the
centre of attention and the primary focus with the white box
surrounding it creating extra levels of importance around
the logo. The colours red and white are the primary and only
colours featured in this logo which makes it more bright and
vibrant for young audiences whilst also being appealing for
older audiences as well. This logo also follows the traditional
square shape for logos which can make this logo quite
simplistic however I think it works as it shows exactly what
there brand is as they make movies that are set in the
marvel universe. Moreover, this logo is highly reproducible
due to it’s simplicity and the fact that it is easily
recognisable. The reason why it is quite simplistic is due to
the lack of elements in the logo as the only elements are the
plain red background, the two words of text and a white
box. All the elements blend together nicely and don’t
contrast enough to take away from the logo in any capacity.
2. The next logo I decided to look at is the DC Studios’ logo.
They used a serif font to make it more obvious who they are
and it may be more appealing to look at for older audiences
as they might struggle to read small or even regular sized
text. The composition allows the logo to be front and centre
of attention as there are no background interferences unlike
the Marvel Studios’ logo. The only colour present throughout
the logo is blue which makes it more bright and vibrant for
young audiences whilst also being appealing for older
audiences as well. This logo also doesn’t follow the
traditional square shape for a logo and instead has a circle
which can make this logo quite unique which I think works as
it shows exactly what there brand is as they make movies
that are set in the DC universe. Moreover, this logo is highly
reproducible due to it’s simplicity and the fact that it is easily
recognisable. The reason why it is quite simplistic is due to
the lack of elements in the logo as the only elements are the
blue text and blue circle. All the elements blend together
nicely.
3. The next logo I decided to research was the Universal
Studios. They used a sans serif font however transformed it
by adding a yellow overlay. The composition allows the logo
to be the centre of attention whilst also making an astatically
pleasing image. There are a multitude of colours used in this
logo however the more dominant colours are yellow, blue,
white and black. Although this combination doesn’t sound
intriguing, this combination of colours worked to great effect
to create an iconic logo. This logo also follows the traditional
square shape which works in its favour as this allows for a
other wordily background with Earth and the space
surrounding it. The only downside to this logo is that it
doesn’t translate well onto a t-shirt however it’s iconic
nature makes it reproducible and easily recognisable. All the
elements blend together.
