Growing up with the X-Men
What I loved is that each of these people had a choice: Do we embrace these amazing gifts that we’ve been given or do we hide who we are and continue living a ‘regular’ life? And if they choose to use their gifts, is it for good or is it for evil?
Weall live in an amazing world right now and just like Batman, we have access to technology that gives us super-human powers. We can flyWe can harness the sun’s energy to create powerWe can have super human strengthWe can see through wallsWe can talk to people just about anywhere around the world whenever we wantBut the most amazing superheroes of all time has to be Professor X
ILLUMINATION:Through X-Men lore, Professor X is considered one of the most powerful mutants with this telepathic powers. But he also had this cool machine called Cerebro that amplified his powers, giving him the ability to communicate where-ever they were and speak directly into what they were up to.Today, social media has become our very own Cerebro units. We can see what people are up to, engage with them, share our own thoughts and all pretty close to real time. It’s changing how we relate to each other, how we communicate and has significant implications for anyone who’s thinking of getting a message out. There are three things we need to be aware of
Levelling of the playing field, change in power (anyone can contact anyone and expect to be heard)New influencers (YouTube, bloggers, Internet Celebrities)-> the real change is when all of these people who now expect to be heard, speak together
