Introduction
4. Fully formatted tables are now included
Bulleted and numbered lists in multiple levels
You can now apply styles to the content
Style sheets can consistently format the content throughout
your project
HTML and CSS included
Style Sheets allows you to format the style using toolbar
buttons to enable you to create visually engaging content
Better styling for web pages
5. Masking data / adding images to a topic
New screenshot overlay feature that enables you to:
Mask sensitive data by overlaying something on top of that screen
Create a call-out and add text to draw attention to that item, or
Add an image such as a logo or branding
Your chosen topic is taken from the Topic Editor into Microsoft
PowerPoint
The Overlay Editor makes it easy to copy the image to other
frames in a topic
The added images remain in a separate layer allowing you to
recapture the screenshot or edit the overlay
6. Customisations no longer have to be recreated every time the
Developer is updated
Aspects of the Player can now be customised using a Skin
instead of directly editing the Player Style
The Skin can customise the appearance and behaviour of the
Player interface and topic bubbles
You can customise sections of text used in the Player and Topics
Oracle has introduced a ‘Gray Skin’ to demonstrate the
customisation possibilities

7. You can now preview a topic from the Library as well as the
Outline Editor
When setting Initial Content Defaults you can choose the
default play modes for the topics you create
If using In-Application Support you can now also set the default
view for the Player
All sound files in UPK are now delivered in AAC format making
it easily accessible across all devices. This is a high quality
sound file with a reasonable file size
The Publishing Wizard Summary Page no longer closes once
you have published the content

8. You can search for a specific Context ID in all topics using the
Context ID Search
There is a new Derived Documents pane that identifies any
topics that have been derived or duplicated from another topic
The Related Documents or Derived Documents panes enable
you to find documents easier
The Find In Library feature can be used to go directly to the
documents location In the Library

9. Select multiple frames when editing topics to either delete or cut
and paste
You can now add Jump In Points to Explanation frames and
Decision frames as well as Action frames
You can also add a Print Area to a frame

10. UPK 12.1 is more ‘touch friendly’ for users of mobile devices
See It! Mode has been transformed and now contains navigation
controls which will be familiar to users who have watched videos
online
Both visual and numeric indicators of the elapsed time and the
total duration of the topic are now included
The user’s ability to Share links from either the Player or within a
topic is also much improved – share links can now take you to a
specific frame within a topic

12. Converting a Topic to a video
ESP1 introduces the Player2Movie application enabling Developers to
convert a published topic into an MP4 video
The video can be embedded into a website or uploaded to YouTube
Question Pools
Create as many questions as you like and then use the new Question
Limit property to define how many questions the user must answer
The user will be presented with randomised questions selected from the
pool – so no two assessments are event the same

13. New LMS Required Mode
This new property is set to automatic by default. However you can
override this by selecting from whichever of the Play Modes are
available for publishing to the LMS
Track it Test it! Mode in the Knowledge Centre
Test It! mode can now be tracked in the Knowledge Center
The results of each completed topic can be tracked and reported
Test Results documents are archived for future reference
