The document summarizes Harshit Choubey's social media marketing task for the NGO Umeed. The task involved creating a social media strategy to connect with 30 followers on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. It also involved inviting applicants for Umeed's Pan-India internship through social media and scheduling online interviews. Harshit approached peers, classmates, and college friends to spread awareness of Umeed's work and internship opportunity. Through social media posts, WhatsApp messages, and an ambassador meeting, Harshit was able to gain around 35 Instagram followers interested in the internship and complete the assigned tasks.

UMEED: A DROP OF HOPE
SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING
• INTRODUCTION
I volunteered in the PAN INDIA INTERNSHIP conducted by UMEED NGO. The
third task was allotted to me was divided into 2 Task. (Task A) was to make a social
media strategy for Ummed to help them connect with at least 30 followers on social
media platform like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter. (Task B) was to invite some
applicants from school and college for the internship and requesting them to send
their CV on email/WhatsApp and to circulate it on social media, LinkedIn, college
and peer groups. And if possible schedule a online interview with the applicant.
•IT’S IMPORTANCE
2. NGO activities include, but are not limited to, environmental, social, advocacy and
human rights work. They can work to promote social or political change on a broad
scale or very locally. NGOs play a critical part in developing society, improving
communities, and promoting citizen participation. Hence marketing of NGO is
important just like any other brands.
All of them have to serve their target markets. However, marketing serves several more
purposes apart from helping you promote your business before your target audience. It
helps you build recognition and credibility for your business. When it comes to the
NGOs, you know how important it is for them to build trust. So, marketing for them
can be a life saver.
Even the NGOs need to expand their influence. The well-known NGOs are well known
for they have marketed their brand well. Imagine an NGO in a dark corner where few
people know of its existence and purpose. Such a brand cannot exist for long unless it is
fully self-dependent in terms of resources.
• MY STRATEGY
My first strategy was to approach my peer group/classmates/college friends and help
them understand the importance of a non-governmental organization in today’s society.
3. What kind of broad scale part NGO plays in developing and improving communities
and promoting citizen participation. And as a citizen why should them contribute their
efforts towards NGO to make a better world for the environment.
• HOW I DID IT?
With the help of the poster of Ummed ,which was provided to me, I circulated the
Poster through my WhatsApp, Instagram and my Discord server and asked my
peers/friends and college mates if they are interested in the internship kindly send their
CV to UMMED through Whatsapp (9956578571) & Email it on info@umeedngo.org
and also asked them to drop a follow on their Instagram. And currently I am posted as a
ambassador so I, took a Short meeting with them and explained all about PAN INDIA
INTERNSHIP.
• WHERE I DID IT ?
All the work was done online through Social Media Marketing, platforms like
INSTAGRAM, FACEBOOK, EMAIL, WHATSAPP, LINKEDIN, TWITTER.
4. CONCLUSION
Finally I got to know the importance of Marketing in business practices. It entails
making the customer aware of the proposition of a product or service, making them
buy the product/ service, and ultimately building a brand. In non-profits too, the
marketing principles hold good because there is requirement of funds to carry on
existing functions and to build capacities for future. Around 35 peoples are follow
our instagram page and most of them are interested to join internship.
