It was a pleasure meeting you at the international conference on
Engineering Geology in the New Millennium (EGNM) that was organized by
International association of Engineering Geology (IAEG) and Indian Society of
Engineering Geology (ISEG) at New Delhi in October 2015.
I consider myself lucky to be part of the international delegation which
opted for an excursion visit to Tehri dam project in Uttarakhand, India. I, along
with my fellow colleague from ARCADIS, Dr. Radek Suchomel, was highly
impressed by the depth of knowledge you have about the Himalayan Geology
and its Seismo-tectonic setup and the way you explained the geological set up
of Dehradun to Tehri area, to us en-route from New Delhi.
Tehri dam is really an engineering marvel of the international repute and
we were literally thrilled to see its components at the site. Your presentation on
the Geotechnical aspects of Tehri dam was very impressive, exhaustive and
elaborate and it speaks about the volume of thorough knowledge that you
possess in the field of Engineering Geology and Geotechnics. Since longer time
there are not many big hydro projects under construction in Czech Republic, it
was a great experience to visit Tehri dam and interact on geotechnical aspects
with you.
I wish that you will scale new heights in future and we may work together
