When I saw the post of this amazingly cool L
V x Supreme collaboration bag that was rele
ased yesterday (I want one!), I wrote “KOR
EWA YABAI!” in Japanese. I jus
t found out that my comment had been aut
o-translated as “This isn’t goo
d!” for those reading in English through tran
slation. It has apparently been circulating and
creating a buzz, spreading the rumor in Paris
that Murakami is negative toward this collabo
ration. “Korewa” is in fact “this is,” but “yabai”
in this context means “COOL!”―it’s the w
ord that we use for an ultimate positive reacti
on. So the translation gave my comment a co
mplete opposite meaning. Sigh… The inferior
technology cause such a grave misunderstan
ding that I almost ruined my good relationshi
ps. Thank you for bringing this to my attentio
