5. Introduction to Creative common
What is creative common?
Creative common – is an internationally active non-profit organization that
provides free licenses for creators to use when making
their work available to the public for example; the work
such as books, games, videos, and etc…

Advantages Disadvantages
Provide a quick solution to the complexities of
content licensing
inappropriate for work from which you intend to
gain commercially, in later or today.
Free to use, widely adopted and flexible Uncontrol over who will reuse your work, other
than through the license terms you choose to
exercise.
No issuing your copyright, but making your work
available for others to use and the license have
been written to be enforceable in court.
It is uncancelled license you cannot withdraw
copies of work released under creative commons
in future.
Easy knowledge of sharing in education, and
science.
7. Types of Licenses
There are six (6) types of licenses.
1. Attribution
CC BY
This license allow others to distribute, remix, adapt,
and build upon your work, even commercially, as long
as they credit you for the original creation.
8. Attribution - ShareAlike
CC BY - SA
This license lets others remix, adapt, and build
upon your work even for commercial purposes, as
long as they credit you and license their new
creations under the identical terms.
9. Attribution - NoDerivs
CC BY - ND
This license lets others reuse the work for any
purpose, including commercially; however, it
cannot be shared with others with adapted
form, and credit must be provided to you.
10. Attribution – NonCommercial
CC BY - NC
This license lets others remix, adapt , and build upon
your work non-commercially, and although their new
works must also acknowledge you and be non-
commercial, they don’t have to license their derivative
works on the same terms.
11. Attribution- NonCommercial-ShareAlike
CC BY – NC - SA
This license lets others remix, adapt, and build
upon your work non-commercially, as long as they
credit you and license their new creations under
the identical terms.
12. Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs
CC BY- NC- ND
This license is the most restrictive of our six main
licenses, only allowing others to download your
works and share them with others as long as they
credit you, but they can’t change them in any way or
use them commercially.
