The filmmaker received feedback from audience questionnaires after a premiere screening of their horror film. The feedback indicated that the editing transitions could be improved as they were too obvious and did not flow well. However, the sounds used in the film were effective at creating tension and suspense based on the filmmaker's research of horror conventions. Some of the lighting and props also received positive feedback for helping set the dark, low-key tone typical of horror films. Feedback on promotional materials like posters and a double-page spread helped the filmmaker refine the visual elements to better capture horror aesthetics and conventions.

3. When hosting out premiere night we handed out several questionnaires to the audience to
receive effective pieces of feedback which would benefit us when improving the film. The
questions which were asked revolved around the props, sound, transitions/editing and general
questions regarding the film. Before creating the film I researched into horror conventions,
doing this enabled me to create strategic decisions regarding the lighting and props within the
film.
The feedback we received from the questionnaires stated that the transitions/editing within
the film could be improved as they were too obvious and did not transition successfully.
Improving this would of made the film look much more professional and conform to the horror
genre. The sound which was featured within the film proved to be successful, the sounds used
all were inspired by the research which took place. Looking at this enabled the sound placed to
be within the horror genre. The sounds which were featured within the film allows it to conform
the horror stereotypes as when watching the film, from the feedback we received tension and
suspense was created in the optimum points of the film because of this. The props and lighting
which was featured within the film was very effective, as the film was primarily filmed at night
it ensured that it was dark and very low key lighting. When referring back to my research I
found that this was an essential part of all horror films. There was a limited amount of props
which were featured within the films, the main prop which was featured was a machete,
however this scene did not make it to the film as it looked very unprofessional and ruined the
verisimilitude of the film.
4. In regards to my poster and double page spread, the feedback received was much more
informal and the majority of this was verbal feedback received from my peers and
teachers.
When receiving feedback on my final poster there was a little changed to be made as it
from my feedback it had captivated the essence of horror posters and conventions. The
feedback which I received from this stated that all of the horror conventions which are
featured within posters, the dark surrounding and the eerie font contributes the horror
mise en scene as stated within the film.
When creating the double page spread I received a range of verbal feedback as I was
creating the review. The one piece of criticism I received was in regard to the pictures
used, as they were of a varying quality I decided to edit them to make them all
consistently black and white, however receiving feedback on this I found it made the page
double page spread look unrealistic and very old fashioned. However once I had changed
the images to high resolution colour copies it made the DPS look much more modern and
professional.
