In what areas do you see drones operate 20 years from now?
Drones will become omnipresent, ranging from small ones (1cc) to large armed ones. Application areas:
security, traffic control, agriculture, newsmedia. Gerard de Reuver
Surveillance (government, police), Military. Civilian use will be very restricted, as new legislation in the coming years
will prevent John Doe to use UAVs without a pilot license.
More future developments on drones: swarms will cooperate independently of human operators: given a task they
will complete it as a swarm. Improved robotics knowledge will increase / extend the functionality of drones. Paul
Heise

How can we
be more
efficient at
the office?
Relaxed, creative enviroment with lots of holidays and individual freedom. Less working hours often mean more overal
productivity. Alexander Murer
I use: Evernote. I work with iMac/ iBook/ iPad and iPhone. I use Skype and Face Time. I try to avoid meetings. I keep fit and
sleep well. I switched off e-mail notifications. Tom Haak
Planning and keeping track of activities. Yezhenyu Sam
Take the phone more often instead of sending emails, do one thing at a time, work from home at least once a week in order
to be able to work really focused, be precise and direct in communication and at the start of a meeting on what it is that
you would like to achieve. Kim de Boer
Clear and agreed meeting rules & sharing meeting(objective) expectations. Gerard de Reuver
"The most effective meeting is one between two persons of which one is absent"".My tip: avoid meetings. Do bilaterlas.
Delegate power to the lowest level possible to get results. Manage by walking around (and do many bilaterals) and lead by
the quality of your ideas. Split up your organisation once it becomes larger than 100 employees. “ Paul Heise
Is there a future for paper?
absolutely but will even more move much more to the premium segment Gerard de Reuver
The current generation in middle & higher management positions stems from the printing age, and finds it difficult to digest
information from screens. Hence the increased printing volume in all "paperless office" attempts. However, teenagers and
twens have fed their brains on digital info, and see printed documents as a nuisance. 20 years from now, when we dinosaurs
have made room for next-generation managers, paper will become close to obsolete in offices. With that trend the paper
industry will either be marginalized or may have reinvented itself. Idea: 3D-printing with paper pulp... Paul Heise

H8IGHT ‘s community is consistent in seeing both a huge amount of challenges as well as mega
opportunities for the continent Africa. Here’s some of the views:
Opportunities: mining, labour force, tourism. Threats: ebola type disasters, corruption. Tom Haak
threats: water scarcity, food scarcity, infectious diseases, war/ intolerance
opportunities: ample availability of solar. Kim de Boer
The biggest threat are westerns who believe that our hightech society is the only way to a good life.
Alexander Murer
Infrastructure. Political stability. Yezhenyu Sam
In order to fully capture the opportunities provided by e.g. ample supply of solar power and one of the largest
underutilized labor forces, a long term politically stabile climate is needed, offered by elected democratic
governments. Once this stability is in place, the influx of foreign investment will flow. Joost d’Hooghe
The H8IGHT community commented on which company is most "future proof”? Here’s some of the views:
Coca Cola. People will always drink Coke. Tom Haak
Adaptable and flexible companies active in the field of the ' share' economy and providing business models
that rent products or services (rather than buying) for the coming years rather future proof. Philips would for
example be able to make a huge step forward in ' future proofness' when the company starts selling lumen
instead of light bulbs. Kim de Boer
Big pharma in general. Life science still has enourmous potential due to very limited knowledge up to date.
Better health/longer life is a main target of general societies development. Alexander Murer
In the long run, every company dies. Yezhenyu Sam
