A bridge has existed at or near the present
site since the Roman occupation nearly 2000
years ago. The first bridge across the
Thames in the London area, probably a
military pontoon bridge, was built of wood by
the Romans on the present site around AD
50.
Around AD 55, a piled bridge was
constructed, and the Romans built a small
trading settlement next to it—the town of
Londinium. The settlement and the bridge
were destroyed in a revolt led by Queen
Boudicca in 60 AD. Her victory was short-
lived, and soon afterwards the Romans
defeated the rebels and set about building a
new walled town
The London Eye was formally opened by the then Prime
Minister, Tony Blair, on 31 December 1999, although it was
not opened to the public until 9 March 2000 because of
technical problems. Since its opening, the Eye has become a
major landmark and tourist attraction.
Since 1 January 2005, the Eye has been the focal point of
London's New Year celebrations, with 10-minute displays
taking place involving fireworks fired from the wheel itself.
In 2006 the tossed group bought out the other two joint
owners, British Airways and the Marks Barfield family (the
lead architects). Following Merlin Entertainment' purchase
of the Tussauds Group in 2007, it now owns 100% of the
Eye. British Airways continued its brand association, but
from the beginning of 2008 the name 'British Airways' was
dropped from the logo.
Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabah Southall was established in
England by Sikhs who had emigrated in the fifties and early
sixties. By the 1950s, a significant number of Sikhs were
living in Britain, and the main congregational gathering was
at Shepherd's Bush Gurdwara. To accommodate the Southall
Sikhs, the Southall Sikh Cultural Society was established in
1960. This organization held Sunday programmers at
Shackle ton Hall until it moved to 11 Beaconsfield Road.
The emigration of Malaysian and Singaporean Sikhs led to
the formation of another group – Sri Guru Nanak Singh
Sabah. The two groups remained independent until 1964

The site of the Bullring, close to Saint Martin’s Church, is the city’s
historic market centre. It began life in 1166 when Birmingham received
a charter for its own market. From mediaeval times, the town was
served by the ancient and parish church of Saint Martin’s. Although now
clad in 19th century restoration work, it may date back to a simple place
of worship in Saxon times. We can be certain there has been a church
on the site since 1290, and the interior still has carvings and tombs
dating back to the 12th and 13th centuries.

The town grew significantly in the 17th century, but a new parish was
not formed until 1708, in the reign of Queen Anne. The new area of
High Town stood at Birmingham’s highest point, and the panorama
from Saint Martin’s was one of splendid houses gracing the hilltop.

IATA (International Air Transport Association) was founded
in Havana, Cuba, in April 1945. It is the prime vehicle for
inter-airline cooperation in promoting safe, reliable, secure
and economical air services - for the benefit of the world's
consumers. The international scheduled air transport
industry is now more than 100 times larger than it was in
1945. Few industries can match the dynamism of that
growth, which would have been much less spectacular
without the standards, practices and procedures developed
within IATA.

At its founding, IATA had 57 members from 31 nations,
mostly in Europe and North America. Today it has some 230
members from 126 nations in every part of the globe.
The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), pronounced , (in French:
Organization de lavation civil international, OACI), is a specialized agency of the
United Nations. It codifies the principles and techniques of international air

The first bridge across the Thames in the London area, probably a military pontoon bridge, was built of wood by the Romans on the present site around AD 50. Around AD 55, a piled bridge was constructed, and the Romans built a small trading settlement next to it—the town of Londinium. The settlement and the bridge were destroyed in a revolt led by Queen Boudicca in 60 AD. Her victory was short- lived, and soon afterwards the Romans defeated the rebels and set about building a new walled town

Since its opening, the Eye has become a major landmark and tourist attraction. Since 1 January 2005, the Eye has been the focal point of London's New Year celebrations, with 10-minute displays taking place involving fireworks fired from the wheel itself. In 2006 the tossed group bought out the other two joint owners, British Airways and the Marks Barfield family (the lead architects). Following Merlin Entertainment' purchase of the Tussauds Group in 2007, it now owns 100% of the Eye. British Airways continued its brand association, but from the beginning of 2008 the name 'British Airways' was dropped from the logo.

To accommodate the Southall Sikhs, the Southall Sikh Cultural Society was established in 1960. This organization held Sunday programmers at Shackle ton Hall until it moved to 11 Beaconsfield Road. The emigration of Malaysian and Singaporean Sikhs led to the formation of another group – Sri Guru Nanak Singh Sabah. The two groups remained independent until 1964

  • 57. The site of the Bullring, close to Saint Martin’s Church, is the city’s historic market centre. It began life in 1166 when Birmingham received a charter for its own market. From mediaeval times, the town was served by the ancient and parish church of Saint Martin’s. Although now clad in 19th century restoration work, it may date back to a simple place of worship in Saxon times. We can be certain there has been a church on the site since 1290, and the interior still has carvings and tombs dating back to the 12th and 13th centuries. The town grew significantly in the 17th century, but a new parish was not formed until 1708, in the reign of Queen Anne. The new area of High Town stood at Birmingham’s highest point, and the panorama from Saint Martin’s was one of splendid houses gracing the hilltop.

It is the prime vehicle for inter-airline cooperation in promoting safe, reliable, secure and economical air services - for the benefit of the world's consumers. The international scheduled air transport industry is now more than 100 times larger than it was in 1945. Few industries can match the dynamism of that growth, which would have been much less spectacular without the standards, practices and procedures developed within IATA. At its founding, IATA had 57 members from 31 nations, mostly in Europe and North America. Today it has some 230 members from 126 nations in every part of the globe.
