Guardian Media Group plc [GMG] will sell airtime for Saga’s three regional
stations in the East Midlands, West Midlands and Glasgow, replacing the
company’s own in-house sales operation for those areas. The change will give
GMG an 8% share of commercial radio listening, putting it fourth after GCap
Media plc, EMAP plc and Chrysalis plc.
Julian Carter, director of sales at GMG Radio, said: "We are delighted to be
working with 'Saga Radio', and the addition of its stations to our own 'Real
Radio' and 'Smooth FM' brands means we are now an extremely powerful buy
for agencies targeting the adult market."
