2. Cloud computing is the on-demand availability of computer
sources, data storage and computing power without active management
by the user. It was invented by Joseph Carl Robnett Licklider in 1960 in
his work with ARPANET. It uses hardware and software to deliver a
service over network. By using cloud computing user can access files, any
applications from any device that can access network.
Amazon was the company, who started the cloud computing
concept. The phrase cloud computing came from cloud symbol in
flowchart used to symbolize the internet, when it is connected to
computing power, Cloud Computing was originated. As we know cloud
means different things to different persons. The concept is very simple,
without storing data and applications in home computer or personal
device. This can be stored in network because it can access from anywhere
using internet.

3. Cloud computing is the delivery of services including service,
storage, network, database like service over the internet. It helps in faster
innovation, growing economic scale. It will reduce the user’s operating
costs.
Benefits of cloud computing are:
 Cost
It will eliminate the capital charge to buy the hardware and software
and run them server in different terminals.
 Speed
By using cloud computing even vast computer sources can be
provisioned in just mouse clicks from different terminals.
 Global scale
The benefits of cloud computing services include the ability to scale
elastically. In cloud speak, that helps in delivering the right amount
of IT resources.
 Performance
It offers several benefits over a single corporate datacenter,
including reduced network latency for applications and greater
economies of scale.
 Security
It provides wide set of policies, technologies to strengthen the
security, as wells helps the data, apps from potential threats.

Types of Cloud computing
All clouds are not same, to determine which cloud is needed,
first step is to understand the types of the cloud computing. They are:
 Public Cloud
It is operated by a third-party service operator, they provide their
computing resources, services over the internet. In this type
hardware, software and supporting infrastructure is owned and
managed by cloud provider.
Example – Microsoft Azure
 Private Cloud
In this type cloud computing services are done by a single business
or organization. In private cloud services and infrastructure is
maintained by the private network.
Example – VMware
 Hybrid Cloud
It combines both private and public cloud. It allows data and
resources shared between them. By using hybrid cloud, it helps to
make business more flexible and optimize existing infrastructure
and security.
Types of Cloud Services
Mainly types of cloud services falls into 4 broad categories:

infrastructure managed over the internet. It only let you to pay
what you use.
 Platform as a service (PaaS): - It is designed to make easier for the
developers to create web or mobile apps without worrying about
the underlying infrastructure.
 Software as a service (SaaS): - It is a method to deliver software
applications over the internet typically on subscription basis.

 Test and build applications
 Analyze data
 Stream audio and video
 Deliver software on demand
 Embed intelligence
From this we can concluded Microsoft is a global provider for cloud
computing services for all business. As the technologies are expanding
cloud computing will plays an important role in IT services.
