1. One of GolinHarris’ first projects with the consumer electronics company was to generate news
for Panasonic’s annual ‘eco ideas’ declaration in 2010 and subsequently in 2011. The public
declaration included information on development of green products and green manufacturing.
We provided recommendations to enhance news value and worked with the client to build story
angles that would interest not just eco media but also business media. Engaging local Singapore
media as well as foreign media and social media channels, we highlighted Panasonic’s
commitment towards sustainability initiatives.
2. Panasonic’s Kids Witness News (KWN) initiative provides a platform for children and youths to
express themselves and to gain greater awareness of developments around the world. The long
running program has not seen media interest in recent years. To bring new interest to KWN,
the Singapore office of GolinHarris developed a survey to look at news media consumption
habits amongst children in the region. The regional survey generated interest in leading
broadcast and print media and brought Panasonic’s Kids Witness News to the forefront again.
3. The Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW) is an annual week-long platform for energy
professionals, policymakers and commentators to discuss and share best practices and solutions
within the global energy space. As a platinum sponsor of the conference Panasonic and the
GH team brought Panasonic’s perspective for a sustainable lifestyle with virtually zero CO2
emissions to life. Through creative story angles, byline articles, media briefings, TV and radio
interviews, we showcased Panasonic’s thought leadership in energy-related research and
facilitated the exchange of ideas and discussions on pertinent energy-related issues.
