12. Successful Fundraising Tips
1.
Set Goals
Your communication strategy: How many people do you want to
reach? How will you reach them? Social media? Email? Did you
consider calling your major donors?
How much funding does your organization want to raise during the
holiday season?
Who does your organization need to help you reach your goals? For
example, will your organization need to enlist volunteers, Board
Members, and/or former interns?
2.
Create a Communications Calendar
Put together a communications timeline focusing on dates of
communication (the day before, the day of, etc.) and type (for
example email or phone)
13. Successful Fundraising Tips
3. Develop your messaging
Have communication ready and set to send and implement. Make sure
you communicate the correct terms and conditions with your donor
base. Provide messaging to those helping you fundraise, by creating
template emails and social media tool-kit.
4. Remind your donors on the matching day
Everyone is busy during the holiday season. It’s good to remind your
donors just in case!
5. Thank your donors!
Encourage repeat donations by engaging with your donors positively
and proactively. Don’t forget to send thank you notes through your
Donation Manager on GlobalGiving!
