  7. 7. Once upon a time, recruiters held all the power. Today, the candidate is in control…
  8. 8. 75% of job seekers consider an employer’s brand before even applying for a job.
  9. 9. Put yourself in the candidate’s shoes: How remarkable is your experience?
  10. 10. Culture isn’t relegated to your employee experience. CANDIDATE EMPLOYEE ALUMNI CULTURE
  11. 11. Okay fine, but where the heck do we start?
  12. 12. Want to know what your employees think? Ask them.
  13. 13. Write down what matters. Netflix wrote down the things they expect in people.
  14. 14. Don’t assume your C Suite has the best ideas on Culture *Most of the time, the opposite is true
  15. 15. Talk regularly about what isn’t working alongside what is. Introduce the Elephant in the Room
  16. 16. Many companies start out being exceptional. As they grow, there is a dark, powerful force that pulls them towards the average. It’s your culture that fights the temptation to be average
  17. 17. Make culture an HR business priority.

  19. 19. Hire remarkably smart people who are passionate about your mission and care deeply about the people you employ & the problems you solve. Never compromise. EVER.
