Industrial Controls Business Unit Project Execution Group Capabilities Wellhead Control Panels Integrated Packaging Includes WHCP, HPU and RTU Wilson Mohr Wellhead Control Panels provide hydraulic power to well shutdown valves. The panel includes manual valves & gauges for local operation and solenoid valves and pressure switches for automated action. Controls are provided for the normal sequencing to open and close the SC-SSV, SSV, wing valve and choke valve. An ESD switch is used to shutdown the wellhead and prevent escalation of a hazardous condition. The HPU includes the hydraulic fluid reservoir, pumps with filters & valving, and pump motor controls. An accumulator rack with nitrogen bottles is provided for loss of electrical power. Electrical enclosures are IP-65 rated. Electrical connections, junction boxes and cable glands are rated IEC EExe. A hand operated backup pump is provided for loss of power conditions. Wilson Mohr designs a PLC based control system to monitor process controls and ESD conditions. Pressure, temperature and level conditions are measured, along with valve status and pump operations. Logic assures adequate hydraulic pressure and volume. Proper sequencing is programmed for normal opening, closing and ESD conditions. The PLC communicates status of valves, pump motors and alarms via ethernet or serial port. Protocols include TCP/IP and MODBUS RTU.
  2. 2. Industrial Controls Business Unit Project Execution Group Logic allows to open/close the SC- SSV, SSV, wing valve and choke valve in sequence for normal opening and closing. ESD will shutdown the wellhead in appropriate sequence and timing. Run/stop control for hydraulic pumps is provided. Pressure switches monitor the hydraulic fluid pressure. A Flammable Gas Detector can be included in the logic along with Fusible Plug in hydraulic supply lines as ESD inputs. The Wellhead Control Skid uses all stainless steel for valves, fittings, tubing,pipe and pipe fittings. All gauges and switches have block and bleed valves. The hydraulic fluid reservoir has separate suction and discharge filters, a common return filter with fouling indication, an aeration filter and a filling filter. The hydraulic pumps each have the capacity to charge the accumulator from empty to full in 120s. The accumulators and nitrogen cylinders have sufficient capacity for emergency operation of the main block valve for three strokes. The accumulator has a pressure safety valve to prevent nitrogen overpressure. The rack has a roof to protect against direct sunshine. Houston (HQ) 12610 W.
