Title: DigiFin Workshop with Lee Axon

The workshop was with Lee Axon who started the business ‘DigiFin’. DigiFin is a combination of
the words ‘Digital’ ‘Finish’ which means that he can get the work done quicker than anyone in the
industry. The company is also run by one person who is the editor, videographer, photographer
and drone flyer within the company. He also deals with the sound, lighting and directing every
shot as one person. Lee Axon the owner and creator of DigiFin started a few years ago exclusively
started shooting on iPhone XS, 11 pro and 12 Pro Max. He now shoots on 2 dedicated Sony full
frame cameras which are the A74 and the A7SIII. The drone is a DJI Mavic Air 2S, FPV and the new
Avata, along with this he has his drone flying license and the insurance. Lee started working in a
call centre, he then went onto working as a personal trainer, this is where he found his new love
for videography by studying different angles that he could film his workouts from. He is fully self-
taught as he never went to college or university so he didn’t have the support that he may have
needed to when learning a new skill. He works for brands such as Aston Martin, Durham Dental
Implant Suite, Sofa Factory, Hetton Juniors FC and Ringtons.
I gained the knowledge that amazing quality photos and videos can be achieved just with an
iPhone. From this experience I learned more about the self-employed side of the media industry
and how he built his business over the years. From this experience I learned about photography
and videography but no other sectors of the industry. No other facilities were mentioned,
however a small group of us had the opportunity to help Lee with filming some footage for one of
his videos. This experience helped me meet Lee who is a relative and popular person within the
media. The workshop helped me see that I can use my phone aswell as a camera to get footage as
it is still a high quality camera. The workshop helped me learn how to edit on mobile apps and
how to film footage on my phone at a high quality.
