Explain how the Irish PAYE system works and the role of the payroll operator. 2. Outline the structure of Government Departments. 3. Identity and define terms associated with the PAYE system 4. Compare and contrast the different types of payments and payment types. 5. Compare and contrast the different types of deductions and deduction types. 6. Explain the difference between Pension types and how they apply to payroll. 7. Explain how the minimum wage operates and the entitlements for employees.

Course Code: PFP1 Payroll Fundamentals Part 1 Learning Objectives LEARNING OBJECTIVES PFP1: Assessments for Payroll Fundamentals Part 1 Assessment Types: UNIT ASSESSMENT: On completion of each unit, you must successfully answer a short question type based on the unit content. We also recommend downloading the additional revision documents (where available) before completing the short assessment. The short assessment can include the following question types; Multiple choice, Fill in the gap, Drag and drop, Free text and/or Randomized. Please Note: Correct answers must be given before moving on to the next unit.

Course Code: PFP1 Payroll Fundamentals Part 1 Learning Objectives LEARNING OBJECTIVES PFP1: Assessments for Payroll Fundamentals Part 1 Assessment Types: PART 1 FINAL ASSESSMENT: 30 Minute Duration On completion of Part 1, you must successfully complete a final assessment. We also recommend downloading the additional revision documents (where available) before completing the final assessment. The Part 1 assessment can include the following question types; Multiple choice, Fill in the gap, drag and drop, free text and/or randomized which you have 30 minutes to complete. Please Note: A pass rate of 60% is required. Two attempts are allowed.
