A Tenacious Google Engineer named Benson Leung found
a more shocking finding that the USB Type -C cables and adapters
sold by a very famous smartphone maker One Plus a brand that
took over India were making and selling USB cables and adapters
that might damage your devices and also you’re ears. The issue
with the One Plus USB Type -C cable and adapter was similar to
some of the dodgy parts that Leung had previously tested, where
One Plus should have used 56k resistor ,but they instead used 10k
resistor. As a result a connected device may attempt to draw 3A ,
when the power source is only rated to supply 2A , potentially
frying your power source .

products with connectivity issues.
Some of the problems with it are while connected, the cable sometime loses its contact and
that the customer have to slightly move the cord to another side to get the contacts right and few other

returning items. One plus has also acknowledged that there are some defects in their USB Type -C cable and
their Type -C adapter and that they could cause damage to the power source. According to the company the
two products are using a resistor that may not be fully compatible with some third party device. Given that
the products are faulty,the company is offering users an opportunity to apply for a refund on units
purchased through the One plus stores . Meanwhile the company is working on developing improved Type -C
cables and adapters with 56k ohm resistor
