3. What is Cloud?
Cloud computing is the delivery of computing services—including servers,
storage, databases, networking, software, analytics, and intelligence—over the
Internet (“the cloud”) to offer faster innovation, flexible resources, and
economies of scale.
What is Google Cloud
Google Cloud is a suite of cloud computing services that runs on the same
infrastructure that Google uses for its end-user products, such as Google
Search, Gmail, and YouTube. Google Cloud offers a broad range of services,
including computing, data storage, data analytics, and machine learning.

4. Why Cloud as a Career
● Cloud engineers are in high demand, as businesses of all sizes are moving
to the cloud.
● The cloud computing market is expected to continue to grow in the
coming years, so there is a high level of job security for cloud engineers.
● There are many opportunities for advancement in a cloud engineering
career.
● The average salary for Cloud Engineer is ₹7.1 lakhs per year in the India.
● The pay is always increasing due to the demand and need of skilled
engineers in the field

5. What is Google Cloud Study
Jams
Google Cloud Study Jams are interactive, hands-on learning events designed to
help individuals and teams explore and gain expertise in Google Cloud
technologies.
Participants get to learn about the topic at hand through facilitator sessions and
hands-on labs.
Study Jams are free to attend, and they are open to all skill levels.

7. What all will be covered
There are two tracks that will be accessible to the participants.
1. Generative AI : Gen AI Arcade Game
2. Google Cloud Skills Boost : Foundations Course
● These tracks are curated specially for the GDSCs
● Both tracks can only be availed by access codes unique to the participant
● The labs are self paced but there is a duration for which the platform will be
available
● There will be sessions conducted by the Cloud Facilitator for our Chapter, i.e., Aafil
Shaikh, our Tech Lead

8. Timeline

Study Jams Duration
3 Oct 2023 - 30 Oct 2023
● No deadline extensions possible
● You will have to complete both the tracks within the given time period
to be eligible for certificate and goodies
● Complete the labs at consistent pace
● Redeem the codes for Generative AI Arcade Game only in the
week assigned to the chapter

9. Process to register
1. Create a new gmail account.
2. Create a new Google Cloud Skills Boost account.

1. Make the account profile public and provide the URL in the form
2. Fill the form provided correctly.

*Note: by filling the form you will be registered for the Study Jams under
GDSC PCCE Chapter.
*Note: Do not wait until the last moment to fill the forms, if the seats fill up
the form may close early.

10. Process to register: Guidelines
1. Only the email used while signing up to the Skills Boost platform must be sent in the
form.
2. No non gmail accounts to be used as they will not receive the access codes mails
3. No college email IDs to be used as the emails may be screened and you will not receive the
emails.
4. No past Google Cloud Skills boost accounts are eligible for this program, the account
must be created on or after 22nd September 2023
5. Fill the form details correctly, there will be no way of validating details and erroneous entries
will be discarded automatically
6. Join the discord server for communication with facilitator regarding sessions and queries.
7. Provide your discord usernames in the form to be added to the cloud channel for
communication.
8. Follow us on other socials as well to stay updated!
9. Join the chapter on the community page to get updates of the
upcoming sessions.

11. Goodies!!
1. All participants who successfully complete
both the tracks will be eligible for the
certificate of completion issued by the
GDSC chapter.
2. Participants completing the tracks will be
eligible for swags upon completion of
milestones set by GDSC India for the Study
Jams Program!
(For a higher chance of being eligible for
swags, large number of participants must
complete the course)
