Automotive UI
and virtual reality
Lecture and showcasing case study
One of the worlds’ leading design studios that
constantly innovates in the UI field.
They work with lots of big clients, but recently started
getting noticed for their experiments with new areas
of user interface. From watch faces for Android Wear
to exploring user experience in the automotive space
with client engagements and their own research and
experimental projects.
But probably the most well-known project that ustwo
created is the Monument Valley game. Now they are
trying to repeat their success with Land’s End launch.
Among their other clients are Google, Jaguar Land
Rover, Lush, Knopka and others.
6
Creating tools for designers
and trends in the modern
creative industry
Lecture from Murat Mutlu,
the co-founder
Marvel is a fast-growing online tool which allows
designers to create prototypes of mobile applications
and web projects.
Marvel began as just a small startup that helped
product designers to link several screens into one
prototype. Last year they’ve received a big chunk of
investment and since then their growth has rocketed.
Murat Mutlu has a strong vision and tons of energy, that
gets everyone in the room immediately inspired.
He will talk about all the steps Marvel went through to
get to where they are now, from the initial idea to the
launch of their first version of the product, how they
got investment and how the market changed since
they started.
7
Branding and interfaces
Lecture from the design team
One of the most exciting British design studios, most
famous for the rebranding of Airbnb, British Premier
League, Logitech and many others.
Usually branding is seen as part of marketing and
advertising strategy and not that many companies can
smoothly translate brands into the digital world. But
Design Studio are masters of digital branding language
and proved it many times with the successes of Airbnb
and Asana. Their design team will talk in more detail
about the work that went into each project and what is
the main secret of nailing an interface design.
Among their other clients are Nokia, Logitech, Asana,
Shyp, OpenTable, Head, Glyph and others.
8
Design systems
Lecture from Alla Kholmatova,
product designer
Styleguide and pattern libraries are a classical solution
for product development strategy. But this static
approach loses a lot of important details during each
step of the design process.
Alla will talk about how using design frameworks and
living styleguide can maintain quality of each individual
product and help teams to simplify
the design process.
9
Product design process
Lecture from Giles Colborne,
the co-founder
Cxpartners is one of the best UX agencies whose co-
founder Giles Colborne is well known for his books and
articles on UX. Together with his colleagues they’ve
already published 5 books on UI, research and other
aspects of user experience.
Apart from designing interfaces for web services, and
apps cxpartners help clients with their design strategy,
building productive teams and improving client
services.
Among their clients are Marriott, Waitrose, eBay, BBC,
TUI and others.

Cultural
programme
This course is also designed to show you London
from a number of different angles. Every day is
packed with activity. You’ll be visiting acclaimed
exhibitions and museums – whatever’s the top of
the must-see list at the time– and also exploring
some of the secret spots in London that most
visitors never get to experience.
You’ll be able to see the best view of London from
the top of a skyscraper; you’ll get to visit the most
exciting events of the year; and you’ll discover
where London’s creative community spends their
free time. In addition, you’ll get recommendations
to guide your own explorations, with tips on the
best places to eat, drink and relax in the capital
of UK.
And of course at the end of this intensive week
we are hosting a party for all participants, with
lecturers, special guests and people from the
industry. It’s a great opportunity for everyone to
get useful contacts, be introduced and just enjoy
the company of inspiring and successful people.
11
Accommodation
To top it all off all participants will be living in a
fantastic house in the heart of London’s creative
district Shoreditch. The house is only 4 minutes
away from Old Street underground station – so-
called Sillicon Valley of London.
The house is also equipped with kitchens, living
rooms and a roof terrace, where all participants
can have breakfast and discuss what they’ve
learnt together.
12
Every day consists of:
Boosting breakfast
During the boosting breakfasts
you will interact with other
participants, share your ideas,
experiences and expectation
for the day and meet local
professionals to get to know
more about the backstage of
the creative industry.
Morning session
It is the first session of the day, it
will take the form of a lecture or a
hands-on workshop.
Practical exercise
A short task to follow up
the morning session and make
everyone unlock their brain’s
full potential
Afternoon session
The second session of the day,
where you will have a chance to
visit another top London agency
and listen to their team
revealing secrets they use in
everyday work.
Debrief and the city
Discuss the content of the day
with other participants to better
organise it in your mind. It will
take place straight after the
afternoon session in locations
that we can then visit as cultural
and social activities such as
museums, galleries, event
spaces or bars.
