1. A disciple of Jesus' named Philip went to Samaria
where he preached about Jesus and many people
were saved.

2. Then an angel of the Lord
said to Philip, “Go south to
the road—the desert
road—that goes down
from Jerusalem to
Gaza.” So he started out

3. As he walked along the road,
Philip saw an important
official from Ethiopia riding
in his chariot. When Philip
approached the chariot, he
heard the Ethiopian reading
from the book of Isaiah.

4. “Do you understand what you are
reading?” Philip asked.
“How can I,” he said, “unless someone
explains it to me?” So he invited Philip to
come up and sit with him. Philip
explained that Isaiah was writing about
Jesus. The Ethiopian man believed in
Jesus and was baptized.

5. At Caesarea there was a man named
Cornelius, a centurion in what was
known as the Italian Regiment. He and all
his family were devout and God-fearing.
One day at about three in the
afternoon he had a
vision. He saw an
angel of God, who
came to him and said,
“Cornelius, send men
to Joppa to bring back
a man named Peter.
He is staying with
Simon the tanner,
whose house is by the
sea.”
When the angel
who spoke to him had gone, Cornelius
called two of his servants.He told them
everything that had happened and sent
them to Joppa.
В Кесарии жил человек по имени
Корнилий. Он был центурионом Италийского
полка. Он сам, как и все домашние его, был
богобоязнен и предан Богу.

ясно Ангела Божьего,

моря».
Когда Ангел, говоривший
с ним, удалился, Корнилий призвал двух
слуг, состоявших при нём, и, рассказав им
всё, послал их в Иоппию.

6. About noon the following day, Peter
went up on the roof to pray. He saw
heaven opened and something like a
large sheet being let down to earth by its
four corners. It contained all kinds of
four-footed animals, as well as reptiles
and birds. Then a voice told him, “Get up,
Peter. Kill and eat.”
“Surely not, Lord!” Peter replied. “I
have never eaten anything impure or
unclean.”
The voice replied, “Do not call
anything impure that God has made
clean.”
На следующий день, около полудня Пётр
поднялся на крышу помолиться. И увидел он,
как раскрылись небеса, и нечто похожее на
широкое полотно, которое держат за четыре
угла, стало опускаться на землю. И на нём
были всякие животные, и пресмыкающиеся
земные, и птицы небесные. И голос сказал
ему: «Встань, Пётр, заколи и ешь!»
Пётр ответил: «Ни за что, Господи! Я
никогда не ел ничего скверного и
нечистого».
Во второй раз голос обратился к нему:
«Что Бог очистил, не называй скверным».

7. While Peter was wondering about the meaning of
the vision, the men sent by Cornelius found out
where Simon’s house was and stopped at the
gate. They called out, asking if Peter was staying
there.
While Peter was still thinking about the vision, the
Spirit said to him, “Simon, three men are looking for
you. Do not hesitate to go with them, for I have sent
them.”
Пока Пётр размышлял о значении
увиденного, люди, посланные Корнилием,
разузнав, где дом Симона, уже стояли у ворот.
Они громко спрашивали: «Не здесь ли
остановился Симон, по прозванию Пётр?»
Пётр размышлял о видении, когда Дух сказал
ему: «Три человека ищут тебя; встань,
спустись вниз и иди с ними без колебаний, так
как я послал их».

8. The next day Peter started out with them, and
some of the believers from Joppa went along. The
following day he arrived in Caesarea. Cornelius was
expecting them and had called together his relatives
and close friends.
Peter said to them: “You are well aware that it is
against our law for a Jew to associate with or visit a
Gentile. But God has shown me that I should not call
anyone impure or unclean. God does not show
favoritism but accepts from every nation the one
who fears him and does what is right.”
На другой день, собравшись, он пошёл с ними,
и с ним некоторые братья из Иоппии. На
следующий день он прибыл в Кесарию. Cозвав
своих родственников и близких друзей, Корнилий
ждал их прихода.
Пётр сказал им: «Вы знаете, что для иудея
незаконно общаться с иноплеменниками или
навещать их. Но Бог указал мне не называть
никого скверным или нечистым. Сейчас я
действительно понимаю, что Бог
беспристрастен, и во всяком народе те, кто
боятся его и поступают праведно — угодны ему. »

9. Cornelius, his relatives and
friends believed what Peter
said and became Christians.

God is alive and well, and still
ready, willing, and able to
speak to His children—and He
wants to speak to you.
Корнилий, своих родственников
и близких друзей поверили в то,
что сказал Пётр и стали
христиане.

Бог жив и здоров. И Он может и
хочет разговаривать со Своими
