- 9. 11 What if I woke up one day, and suddenly, I could speak every language in the world? If I didn’t speak loving and kind words to my friends, but used my words to hurt and make fun of others, then my words would be like unpleasant noise. Everyone would want to be far, far away from it.
- 11. 22 What if I was the smartest kid on the planet—the top of the class—a true record breaker? What if I was so good at gaming that there was no level I couldn’t get past? If I didn’t share my games with others and take time to be a true friend, it would all mean nothing.
- 13. 33 What if I gave away all my toys to kids who had less than me? What if I did good things for others all day long, but then didn’t show love to my family at home by words and deeds of kindness, gratitude, and respect? Without love, all my public displays of unselfishness wouldn’t matter a bit.
- 15. 44 Living in love means being patient and kind. It means not wishing for what others have, not bragging about all the cool things I have to someone who has less. It means not trying to be the best at everything, but being happy to be part of a team, and helping my friends in any way I can.

Can you think of ways to be kind to others even when they break or lose one of your favorite toys? Remember that they are just things, and shouldn’t be valued above God or others. It’s easy to get discouraged and want to give up when something is difficult, but it’s important to keep trying. Can you think of other gifts that we can get from God? What makes them different from earthly gifts?
