Mr. Reginald“Reggie”Smith, son of Mr.Willie and Inez Smith, was born
in Atlanta, Georgia on October 12, 1970. On Tuesday, October 18, 2022,
surrounded by his loving family, he heard the calm voice of our heavenly
Father calling him to take his rest and come home. Reggie as he was
affectionately called, was the last of two children.
Growing up in a loving God-fearing family,
Reggie accepted Christ at an early age.
He loved God and music which led him
to actively participate in Greater Fair Hill’s
Youth Choir. Everyone who knew Reggie
knew that he loved sports. During his time
inhighschool,Reggielovedplayingfootball.
He graduated from Benjamin E. Mays High
School, Class of 1988.

After graduation, Reggie pursued many
interests over the years that led him to
becoming a loyal and dedicated member
oftheClaytonCounty’sSheriffDepartment
team. His co-workers often described
Reggie as respectful, dependable, quiet
soul who had your back.
IfyouknewReggie,youalsoknewthathisbiggestjoyandaccomplishment
came from his first love...his beautiful kids KalIn (Maverick), Briana, Ariana,
Amaria and Reggie Jr. and his precious grandkids Jameisha, Maverick
and Aubrey.
A gentle spirit and kind soul, Reggie was truly loved and well respected
man, father, son and friend by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He always found the good in people.
Reggie was preceded in death by his infant son, Christian Smith and his
sister Erica Renee Smith.
Reggie leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted children
KalIn (Maverick), Briana, Ariana, Amaria and Reggie Jr.; grand children
Jameisha, Maverick and Aubrey; his loving parents Mr. Willie and Inez
Smith; his nephew, Brandon Brown; Aunts, Von Baker, Dorothy Davis,
Helen Harris (Lee), Carolyn Kirkland, Alice Pye, Verdell Smith, Evelyn
Thomas (Mack); Uncles Calvin Frazier (Elaine) and Albert Roberts; and a
host of cousins and friends.
As we look back over time
We find ourselves wondering …..
Did we remember to thank you enough
For all you have done for us?
For all the times you were by our sides
To help and support us …..
To celebrate our successes
To understand our problems
And accept our defeats?
Or for teaching us by your example,
The value of hard work, good judgment,
Courage and integrity?
We wonder if we ever thanked you
For the sacrifices you made.
To let us have the very best?
And for the simple things
Like laughter, smiles and times we shared?
If we have forgotten to show our
Gratitude enough for all the things you did,
We’re thanking you now.
And we are hoping you knew all along,
How much you meant to us.
