Mumbai: After the Ve-
danta-Foxconn pre-
ferred a Gujarat move

eyes are now focussed
on outcomes of eight
other industrial pro-

Of the nine pending
proposals, Maharash-

be spread over 2,500
acre land, with a finan-
cial outlay of Rs3,000
crore, the state govern-
ment’s request for
Rs1,000 crore financial
assistance from New
Delhi was duly ac-
knowledged by Centre
on August 30, 2021. How-
ever, on September 01,
2022, approval was
granted to the three
other states in the run-
ning.

Chemicals and Fertiliz-

Mumbai: Shiv Sena
President Uddhav
Thackeray on Satur-
day reiterated the
party’s resolve to
hold the annual
Dussehra rally at
Shivaji Park this year.
He urged party activ-
ists to gather in large
numbers on the day,
setting the stage for a
confrontation with
members of the
Eknath Shinde fac-
tion, who are vying to
host the rally as well.
Addressing a meet-
ing of deputy vibhag
pramukhs (department
heads) at the Shiv Sena
Bhavan in Mumbai,
Thackeray said, “This
year’s ‘Dasera Melava’
(Dussehra rally’ will be
held at ‘Shivteerth’.
Please do not harbour
any doubts about it. We
have also sent a remind-
er application to the
Brihanmumbai Munic-
ipal Corporation (BMC)
in this regard.”
Sena refers to Shivaji
Park as ‘Shivteerth’ af-
ter party founder Bala-
saheb Thackeray’s me-
morial was set up at the
park.
“Uddhavji has asked
us to ensure larger
numbers for both the
Dussehra rally as well
as the office-bearers’
conclave scheduled for
September 21 at Nesco
ground in Goregaon,”
said a Shiv Sena activ-
ist, who attended the
meeting.
The Uddhav faction
of the Shiv Sena was
the first to submit an
application to the BMC
requesting permission
to hold the Dussehra
rally at Shivaji Park on
October 05. The Rebel
MLA faction led by
Chief Minister Eknath
Shinde also submitted
an application seeking
a permit for the rally at
the same venue on
Dussehra day
.
Further, the Shinde
faction also applied for
permission to hold a
rallyatMMRDAground
in Bandra Kurla Com-
plex (BKC) as an alter-
native venue.
BMC officials have
since maintained that
as the legal proceedings
of both factions over be-
ing the ‘real’ Shiv Sena
are pending before the
Supreme Court’s Con-
stitution bench, the
civic body’s legal de-
partment will give its
opinion on the rally
matter before it can
grant permission.
When he was politi-
cally active, Balasaheb
Thackeray’s speech at
the Dussehra rally
would attract Shiv
Sena activists from all
over Maharashtra. The
rebellion by Eknath
Shinde and 40 MLAs
has charged up ordi-
nary Sena activists and
the rally is likely to at-
tract a huge crowd
from across the state
this year.

the Indian military de-
feated the Nizam to
merge Hyderabad into
the Indian Union.
Addressing people
on the occasion, the
chief minister said,
“The government is un-

velopment works in the
Marathwada region
and a periodic review
of these works will be
taken from the war
room.”
“We will carry out
development works at
the Ghrushneshwar
temple in Ellora. The
government is also
positive about setting
up a sports university,
carrying out the reno-

pipeline schemes in
Jalna and Aurang-
abad, among other
things,” he said.
Instructions have
also been given to the
authorities to expedite
the work of the memo-
rial of Shiv Sena found-
er Bal Thackeray in
Aurangabad, he said.
Talking to reporters
after the event, Shinde
said, “A national-level
event to mark the Hy-
derabad Liberation
Day will take place in
Hyderabad on this day
for three states (Telan-
gana, Maharashtra and
Karnataka that were
part of the Nizam rule
till September
17,1948).”
A project has been
undertaken to divert to
the Marathwada the
water that drains into
the sea to mitigate the
region’s problems aris-
ing out of the drought
situation, he said.
When asked, Shinde
said the government
has not given a stay on
the allotment of indus-
trial plots in the state.
“No such decision
about a stay on the al-
lotment of plots to in-
dustry has been taken.
A review has been tak-
en. The government is
committed to take max-
imum service to the in-
vestors coming here,”
he said.
He was reacting to a
query about reports
that the government
has ordered a stay on
the MIDC plots allotted
after June 01, 2022, ask-
ing the authorities to
review the allotment
sanctioned.

First India Bureau
Pune: A govern-

(GR) was issued on
Friday to restore
powers of the Ma-

thereby enabling
the body to take its
own decisions.
However, Jitendra

ing the Maha Vikas
Aghadi (MVA) gov-
ernment’s regime,
said he had taken
over the powers of
MHADA as the gov-
ernment had “zero
knowledge” of its
functioning.
According to
Awhad, every gov-
ernment body has to
operate within the
purview of the gov-
ernment and its
rules and regula-
tions. In the case of
MHADA, the govern-
ment was not getting
information as to
what it was doing.
“The government
had ‘zero knowledge’
about its functioning.
Andthatisthereason
the housing ministry
had taken over the
decision-making
powers,” Awhad said
on Saturday
.
As per the resolu-
tion, MHADA offi-

have to rely on the
government for deci-
sion-making. The GR
will allow MHADA to
make its own deci-
sions regarding rede-

allotment of houses,
transfer of employ-
ees and the like.
Awhad even said
that he has no objec-
tions to the Shinde-

are appropriate.

First India Bureau
Mumbai: Amid the
outbreak of lumpy

cattle. The concept
will be implemented
in 682 villages of 24

“Treatment centres
were set up for the gen-

of the COVID-19 pan-

These centres will be-

Putting forth other
demands, Patil said,
“Apart from setting up
quarantine centres at

CHEETAH, THE
SLEEK SPRINTER,
ARRIVES IN MP FOR
A FRESH BEGINNING
eventy years after
their extinction in
India, Cheetahs are
back. They are Prime
Minister Narendra
Modi’s 72nd birthday gift to In-
dia. The eight big cats translo-
cated to the Kuno National Park
in Madhya Pradesh from Na-
mibia were released into the for-
est by the prime minister to
mark his birthday on Saturday
.
The sleek sprinter of the wild
was hunted down by the lovers
of big game sport with the last
of them being brought down in
1947. Their translocation will
not only restore ecological bal-
ance but also revive the grass-
lands and forests of Kuno Park.
The second coming of chee-
tahs must be welcomed with
crossed fingers as it is an exper-
iment fraught with risks. Such
international translocations in
the wild have low success rates.
Even With the prime minister’s
keen interest in the project vet-
erinarians, park officials and
the MP government all will have
to conspire to ensure its success.
If it succeeds then 12 more chee-
tahs will be translocated from
South Africa.

P
PREZ MURMU TO REPRESENT INDIA AT
QUEEN ELIZABETH II’s FUNERAL
awaharlal Nehru attended
the coronation of Queen Eliz-
abeth in 1952. The Common-
wealth was than a small or-
ganisation. The Queen be-
came Head of Common-
wealth the same year. Till
1947 it was a white man’s
club: United Kingdom, Aus-
tralia, New Zealand and Can-
ada. India and Pakistan be-
came members on becoming
independent. Ceylon fol-
lowed in 1948. In 1957 Ghana
became the eighth member.
Government has taken the
correct decision for Presi-
dent Droupadi Murmu to
represent India at the funeral
of the Queen. She will get to
know many of her counter-
parts. Several hundred Heads
of State and Government
have been invited. Most will
be in London by the Septem-
ber 18. Will President XI of
China and President Putin
attend? The funeral is on the
September 19.
No country can out do the
United Kingdom in planning
and organising ceremonial
events. The late Queen’s jour-
ney from Buckingham Place
to Westminster Hall on Sep-
tember 14 was as memorable
as it was spectacular.
The World is running out
of Monarchies. UK, Japan
followed by Cambodia, Thai-
land, Brunei, the Malay
Kingdoms, Bhutan, Saudi
Arabia and the Gulf King-
doms. The last eight are not
democracies.
Has the British monarchy
a future. The Queen was
widely admired, popular and
respected. King Charles III is
not endowed with these in-
dispensable qualities. I have
met him three or four times.
The first time in February
1975 in New Delhi. He was ac-
companied by Lord Mount-
batten. They stayed in New
Delhi for two days.
I was then Deputy High
Commissioner in London. I
came to New Delhi a couple
of days before the arrival of
Prince Charles and Uncle
Dickie. They left Delhi for
Kathmandu after two days to
attend the coronation of the
King of Nepal. By then
Charles, was somewhat irri-
tated with Mountbatten.
At Palam airport Prince
Charles took me aside and
said, “I would very much like
to come again in October for
a longer stay. If that is con-
venient to you, but without
Uncle Dickie.” “Your Royal
Highness, you are most wel-
come”.
King Charles III is 73 years
of age. Will he attain the age
of his mother? That will cer-
tainly prolong the life of Brit-
ain’s monarchy
.
BHARAT JODO YATRA
Rahul Gandhi is fifty two
years of age. He looks fit and
healthy
. As far as one knows
he has not been a patient ad-
mittedtoahospitalevenonce.
If anyonecompletetheBharat
Jodo Yatra it will be Rahul,
provided he does not decide to
go on a trip outside India.
The most famous yatra
was Gandhiji’s in March-
April 1930, from Sabarmati
Ashram to Dandi to break the
salt laws in March-April 1930.
The Dandi march attracted
worldwide attention.
Some years ago Murli
Manohar Joshiji walked
from South India to Srinagar
to hoist the BJP flag in Lal
Chowk in Srinagar. He was
then President of the BJP.
The late Prime Minister
Chandra Shekherji and for-
mer Madhya Pradesh Chief
Minister, Digvijay Singh,
also undertook shorter
yatras. The Bharat Jodo
Yatra will take 150 days to
reach Srinagar, a distance of
3,500 KM from Kanyakumari.
What is the objective of the
Bharat Jodo Yatra? Bharat
remains united. No worth-
while government will per-
mit dismemberment of the
country. Interest in Rahul’s
yatra will be eroded, if the
number of participants is
dramatically reduced on the
way to Srinagar. If 500 con-
gress walkers reach Srina-
gar, the congress will earn
some ‘cudos’. Its revival is a
very distant dream. The ma-
laise is too deep.
REMEMBERING FEDERER
Roger Federer, the greatest
Tennis player of all time an-
nounced his retirement on
Thursday. He is 41 years of
age. His home is in Basel,
Switzerland. What will he do
now? The Secretary General
of the UN should invite him
to become a roving U.N Am-
bassador for one of its agen-
cies e.g Human Rights Com-
mission.

Firozabad (Agencies): A
court has sent a school

for sexually assaulting an
8-year-old boy. The boy
was a student in the same
school where the man
was teaching. The court
also imposed a fine of Rs
30,000 on the man and
ordered him to pay half the
amount to the boy as com-
pensation. The assault took
place on May 14, 2015,
when the accused identified
as Vijay Pal Singh, lured
the boy to come with him
to the roof of the school
building and once there he
sexually abused the child.

The CBI court said Aziz,

Mathura (Agencies): The dozen odd Hindu petitioners
in Mathura, seeking ‘liberation’ of the Shri Krishna
Janmabhoomi from the Shahi Idgah, have been rejoicing
ever since the Varanasi court ruled in favour of the Hindu
petitioners in the Gyanvapi case. The Varanasi district
court ruled that the case was maintainable in the court of
law and rejected the application moved by the Anjuman
Intezamia Masjid Committee that the Places of Worship

New Delhi (Agencies): The Central Bureau of Investi-
gation (CBI) on Saturday moved a Delhi court against
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal
(RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav in the Indian Railway
Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) scam case.
The CBI sought cancellation of bail granted to the Rash-
triya Janata Dal (RJD) leader in the matter. Yadav was
issued a notice by special judge Geetanjali Goel on the
CBI’s plea and his response was sought on the matter.

New Delhi: The Con-
gress party did manage
to save its MLAs from
the BJP in Goa. In July,
when the information
about the breakdown of
the MLA was first re-
ceived, Congress Presi-
dent Sonia Gandhi hur-
riedly sent the party’s
General Secretary
Mukul Wasnik to Goa.
HemetalltheMLAsand
when he came to know
that some MLAs of the
party had made up their
mind to join the BJP
, he
sent five MLAs to Chen-
nai. Digambar Kamat
and Michael Lobo, who
were then trying to
break the party, had a
totalof fiveMLAs,while
eight legislators were
needed to avoid the anti-
defection law. That’s
when the attempt failed.
After that the Con-
gress removed Michael
Lobo as the leader of the
legislature party
. Now
the big question that is
being raised in party
circles is why was Lobo
made a leader after the
election? Lobo has been
in the Congress earlier
but had switched to the
BJP and was a minister
in the BJP government.
Before the elections, he
had left the BJP and re-
turned to the Congress
and the party had given
tickets to both him and
his wife. Both also won
and after winning, the
Congress made him the
leader of the legislature
party
. This was a big
mistake which angered
the old and loyal leaders
of the party, including
Digambar Kamat.
Kamat needed an ex-
cuse for an opportunity
to leave the party. He
was tired of being in
constant opposition
and wanted power. Last
time he was hopeful
that maybe next time
Congress would win.
But when the Con-
gress’s seats fell further,
he made up his mind to
leave the party

New Delhi: In the cur-
rent list of politicians,
only AAP Supremo
Arvind Kejriwal is the
leader who can take a U-
turn on his stands. Take
for example his recent
stand on the Agneepath
scheme. He had com-
pletely opposed the Ag-
neepath plan brought
for four years’ recruit-
ment in the army and
had demanded full-time
jobs instead of making
the youth Agniveers.
But now, he is saying
that he fully supports
the scheme. He is the
only leader of the oppo-
sition who is openly
supporting this plan.
The rest of the opposi-
tion leaders are still op-
posing it or at least not
supporting it. The state
governments are giving
the help to the army
that is being sought in
organizing recruitment
rallies for the inducting
Agniveers, but the Op-
position parties are not
supporting it.
In Punjab also the
state government was to
provide similar help to
the army, but when the
army did not get help in
Punjab, it shot a letter to
the Chief Minister that
if it does not help in or-
ganizing the rallies for
recruitment, then the
army will organize ral-
lies in other states in-
stead of Punjab. Re-
sponding to this letter,
Kejriwal said that he is
not in favor of this
scheme but when the
government has taken a
decision, he fully sup-
ports it. Now just imag-
ine the double talk. If
Kejriwal is not in favor
of any law, then how
can he support the deci-
sion of the government?
And if he thinks his
changing the stance was
right, then why did he
not do so in the case of
agricultural laws?

World Bank warns of recession in 2023
Washington (Agencies):
Interest rate hikes by cen-
tral banks around the
world could trigger a global
recession in 2023, the World
Bank has warned, media
reports said. Central banks
have raised rates “with a
degreeof synchronicity not
seen over the past five dec-
ades” to tackle soaring pric-
es, World Bank said.
Raising rates makes bor-
rowing more expensive to
try to bring down the pace
of price rises. But it also
makes loans more costly,
which can slow economic
growth. The warning from
the World Bank came
ahead of the monetary pol-
icy meetings of the US Fed-
eral Reserve and Bank of
England, which are expect-
ed to increase key interest
rates next week. The World
Bank had said that the
global economy is in its
steepest slowdown since
1970, BBC reported. The
World Bank also called on
central banks to coordinate
their actions and “commu-
nicate policy decisions
clearly” to “reduce the de-
gree of tightening needed”.
“Under the circumstanc-
es, even a moderate hit to
the global economy over
the next year could tip it
into recession,” it said.

NO ROOM FOR COMPLACENCY ON THE
INFLATION FRONT: FINANCE MINISTRY
New Delhi: A Finance Ministry report on Saturday underlined the need
for deft management of stocks of agriculture commodities in view
of lower crop-sowing for the Kharif Season, stressing there should
be no room for complacency on the inflation front. Overall, inflation-
ary pressures in India appear to be
on a decline with a pre-emptive set of
administrative measures by the govern-
ment, agile monetary policy and easing
of international commodity prices and
supply-chain bottlenecks, according to
the monthly Economic Review released
by the Finance Ministry. However, it
said, there is no “room for complacency
on the inflation front as lower crop-
sowing for the Kharif season calls for
deft management of stocks of agricul-

New Delhi (Agencies): As
contact-intensive services
have revived and there is
growth in private consump-
tion, economic growth is
expected to improve in the
coming months, the month-
ly economic review re-
leased by Finance Ministry
on Saturday said.
The review noted that as
external pressures will di-
minish, inflationary pres-
sures are expected to wear
down. India’s GDP growth
was 13.5 per cent in the
first quarter of the cur-
rent fiscal. “Increase in
private consumption and
higher capacity utilisation
in the current year has
further reinvigorated the
capex cycle to take the in-
vestment rate in the first
quarter of 2022-23 to one of
its highest levels in the
last decade,” it said.
Released by the depart-
ment of economic services,
it further noted that with
the economic growth in the
first quarter of the current
fiscal much ahead of the
pre-pandemic period, i.e.
the first quarter of 2019-20.
“The real GDP in the first
quarter of 2022-23 is now
nearly four per cent ahead
of its corresponding level
of 2019-20, marking a strong
beginning to India’s growth
revival in the post-pandem-
ic phase, the review said. It
further said that sustained
growth in government’s
revenues will also aid capi-
tal expenditure during the
current fiscal. Risks to
growth and inflation tra-
jectories persist as India is
integrated with the rest
of the world, the finance
ministry said.
Core inflation may also
remainstickyinthemonths
ahead as companies pass on
higher inputs costs to the
consumersoonerthanlater.
During the winter months,
heightened international
focus on energy security in
advanced nations could el-
evate geopolitical tensions,
testing India’s astute han-
dling of its energy needs so
far. In these uncertain
times,itmaynotbepossible
to remain satisfied and sit
back for long periods, it
further noted.

RBI to bring card tokenisation
norms into effect from Oct 1
Mumbai (PTI): The Re-
serve Bank of India (RBI) is
ready to bring its card-on-
filetokenisationnormsinto
effect from October 1 after
various complaints were
filed regarding the misuse
of debit or credit cards.
Several people were
cheated in the last few
years by cyber frauds be-
cause they have stored
their card data on the mer-
chants website for future
payments.
Lets us understand what
these new norms are and
why you should tokenise
your card.
Firstly, tokenisation
means the details of your
cards such as 16-digit num-
ber, names, expiry dates
and codes which you used
to save earlier for the fu-
ture payments will now be
replaced by a token. The
token is used by the
merchant`s website for the
transaction.
The RBI is implement-
ing these norms of tokeni-
sation in order to secure
the card details of the cus-
tomers. Currently, the
bank card details are saved
by a merchant during a
transaction.
If, the merchant`s web-
site is hacked, the details
of the customers will be
exposed.Post implementa-
tion of these norms all the
customers data will be
with the bank and not with
the merchant website.
Securing/Tokenisation
also helps you save the
hassle of inputting your
complete card details each
time. Customers need not
have to pay any charges for
availing this service.
Securing/Tokenisation
also helps you save the
hassle of inputting your
complete card details each
time. Customers need not
have to pay any charges for
availing this service.
Further, banks will also
provide a portal to their
customers to view or man-
age their tokenised cards
to ensure no fraud.
CUSTOMERS HAVE TO FOLLOW THESE
STEPS TO GET THEIR CARDS TOKENISED
Step 1: Visit your favourite
online application/website to pur-
chase grocery, pay bills or order
food and initiate a transaction.
Step 2: In the check-out page,
select HDFC Bank Credit/Debit
Card and provide CVV.
Step 3: Tick mark the check box
“Secure your Card” or “Save
Card as per RBI guidelines”.
Step 4: Enter the OTP received
on your registered mobile
number.
Step 5: Congratulations!!! Your
card details are now secured.
Once the customer tokenised
their cards they will be able to
recognise their details on the
merchants website using the last
4 four digits of the cards, which
is the only data the merchant will
be able to save on their portal.

Mumbai: The Motor
Accident Claims Tri-
bunal (MACT) in
Mumbai gave a rare
decision by increas-
ing the sum of com-
pensation sought by a
family by almost Rs5
lakh.
Sanjay Ingale (39),
the sole bread earner of
his family died in an ac-
cident that took place at
the Mumbai-Pune Ex-
pressway on February
11, 2016. He was coming
from Airoli to Shirur
when the incident took
place.
While Ingale was re-
pairing a mechanical
fault of his truck that
stood at Mumbai-Pune
Expressway, a trailer
coming at a very high
speed, dashed into his
truck causing its front
tyre to go over Ingale,
who died on the spot.
Since the family did
not have any evidence
to prove that Sanjay
was 39 years old, the tri-
bunal went for the age
mentioned as 44 in the
advanced post-mortem
certificate. His family
also did not have docu-
ments to show that In-
gale was earning
Rs10,000 per month, so
the Tribunal took
Rs8,000 per month as
his income. The annual
income was thus, taken
to be Rs96,000, factoring
25% more for the pros-
pects of the deceased.
“Yearly income was
Rs1,20,000 and out of
which 1/4th was de-
ducted for personal ex-
penses. As per Supreme
Court guidelines, the
suitable multiplier is 14
with the age, thus the
loss of dependency was
Rs12,60,000. The fixed
funeral expenses and
loss of estate will be
Rs15,000. With a 10% in-
crease in conventional
heads every three years,
the family is entitled to
receive Rs14,69,000 and
added a rate of interest
of 7% per annum,” the
Bench directed.

As part of the simu-

WHAT IS THE REAL
TARGET OF
RAHUL’S ‘YATRA’?
Rahul and Congress
are in awe of the
initial successes of the
‘BharatJodoYatra’.This
visit of Rahul is also in-
tendedtogiveabigjump

countin2024.Keepingin
view the ‘24 elections,
Rahul’s ‘Bharat Jodo
Yatra’ispassingthrough
the same states where
the Congress is seeing
some ray of hope, where
they have a cadre, a lead-
er, and thus, a hope.
Where there is no hope,
likeinUP
,the‘Yatra’has
been reduced to 5 days.
Those states have also
been left where the Con-
gress is dependent on its
allies, such as Tamil
Nadu, where the Con-
gress’s journey lasted
only 3 days. The
journey started
from Kanyaku-
mariandreached
Kerala on the
thirddaybecause
theCongresspoli-
tics in Tamil
Nadu is de-

o n
DMK.Rahul’sjourneyis
to last 19 days in a small
state like Kerala, 21 days
in Karnataka, and 13
days in Telangana. That
is, in a journey of 148
days, Rahul is spending
53 days only in those 3
states of the South. Sim-
ilarly
, the assembly elec-
tions are to be held in
Rajasthan and Madhya
Pradeshnextyear,where
the Congress wants to
maintain its previous
performance. Rahul’s
journey in Rajasthan is
of 21 days and in Mad-
hya Pradesh it is of 16
days. In the 2019 Lok
Sabha elections, there
were 29 seats where the
BJP defeated the Con-
gress by a small margin
and 57 seats where the
BJP’s victory margin
over the Congress was
less than one lakh.
So, this time
on these 86
Lok Sabha
seats, Con-
gress wants
to put its full
emphasis and
wants to at
least double its
seats as com-
pared to
2019.
IS DIDI’S CHARISMA
FADING AWAY?
Trinamool leader
Mamata Banerjee is
tryingtobecomethenew
head of the Opposition
unit, but her own house
seems to have been
marred with strife. Take
the example of Goa, the
champion land of defec-
tion, from where Luiz-
inho Faleiro, came to
TMC just before the Goa
elections, didn’t even
contest the Assembly
elections, and went
straight to the Rajya
Sabha. Now it is being
said that Mamata is an-
gry with him these days.
Flerio,aformerGoaCM,
has won seven assembly
elections, despite this
Mamata did not
give him a place
in the TMC’s
Goacorecom-
mitteeasDidi
is probably
aware that
these days, Fa-
leiro is giving
saffron color
to his
dreams,
so in
the Presidential and
Vice- Presidential elec-
tions, he supported the
NDA and towed a line
other than TMC. His
votes were in support of
Droupadi Murmu and
JagdeepDhankhar.Now
Didi has been informed
Faleiro may go to the
BJP’s court very soon.
Sourcesrevealthatama-
jor reason for this is the
factthattheFaleirofam-
ily has a large and luxu-
rious resort in the coast-
al area, which still falls
under the legal defini-
tion of illegal and legal-
izing it can take up to
three years. Not even six
months have passed
since BJP government
was formed in Goa and 8
Congress MLAs have
already shifted to
BJP
. There is a
huge void in the-
name of Opposi-
tion,soFaleirois

doesn’t want to
take risk.
WILL SUSHMITA
ALSO FOLLOW
LUIZINHO
FALEIRO’S PATH?
Sushmita Dev, who
hails from a big po-
litical family of Assam,
who left Congress and
joined TMC, has also
made up her mind to
leaveTMC.Infact,Sush-
mita is worried about
her political future.
When she left the Con-
gress, she used to be an
important member of
Rahul Gandhi’s core
team. Sushmita hoped
that Mamata would at
least send her to RS. But
this didn’t happen and
Sushmita’s hopes were
shattered. Sushmita is
alsowellawarethatwin-
ning the LS polls in As-
sam on a TMC ticket is
nothing less than mira-
cle. So, she has already
started exploring the
new door of possibili-
ties.Suchisthesituation
now that when TMC’s
core group meeting was
going on in Guwahati
andinsteadof Sushmita
attending that meeting,
she went to meet Assam
CM Himanta Biswa Sar-
ma, Didi scolded Sush-
mita to which Sushmita
replied naively and said,
“I had gone to talk to the
CM that’s why so many
atrocitiesarebeingcom-
mitted against the peo-
ple of our party in the
state?” Didi couldn’t say
anything further!
WHAT DOES
TEJASHWI THINK
FOR NITISH?
Recently, Bihar’s
Deputy CM and
RJD leader Tejashwi
Yadav held a tea party
at his house and invited
senior leaders of his
party who
couldn’t find
a place in
the new coalition gov-
ernment of Bihar de-
spite their seniority.
Tejashwi was sharing
his mind with these
leaders when suddenly
a senior RJD leader who
came from Munger
asked Tejashwi, “You
made Nitish Kumar
again the CM while his
vote percentage is less
in front of our party at
only 10-12%, and on rid-
ing our vote share, he is
dreaming of becoming
nation’s PM in 2024.
And what have you got
in return, only the post
of Deputy CM?” Tejash-
wi listened carefully
and patiently answered,
“You are senior to me in
both age experience.
Try to understand that
in Bihar there are 40 LS
seats. Congress and
Left will fight on 4-6
seats in 2024. Out of the
remaining 34 seats, 17-
17 seats will be left for
RJD and JDU. Our tar-
get is that this time we
have to win all these 17
seats by employing our
entire might. Now it is
up to Nitish ji that how
many seats he can win
out of his share of 17.
Political observers tell
that Nitish ji can get 12
seats, so can anyone
with 12 seats be a seri-
ous PM candidate? Del-
hi’s media will also
have to understand
this.”
...AND FINALLY
In the recently con-
cludedRaipursession
of theRSS,inwhichBJP

was a rift in relations be-

  • 2. Satish Nandgaonkar Mumbai: Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray on Satur- day reiterated the party’s resolve to hold the annual Dussehra rally at Shivaji Park this year. He urged party activ- ists to gather in large numbers on the day, setting the stage for a confrontation with members of the Eknath Shinde fac- tion, who are vying to host the rally as well. Addressing a meet- ing of deputy vibhag pramukhs (department heads) at the Shiv Sena Bhavan in Mumbai, Thackeray said, “This year’s ‘Dasera Melava’ (Dussehra rally’ will be held at ‘Shivteerth’. Please do not harbour any doubts about it. We have also sent a remind- er application to the Brihanmumbai Munic- ipal Corporation (BMC) in this regard.” Sena refers to Shivaji Park as ‘Shivteerth’ af- ter party founder Bala- saheb Thackeray’s me- morial was set up at the park. “Uddhavji has asked us to ensure larger numbers for both the Dussehra rally as well as the office-bearers’ conclave scheduled for September 21 at Nesco ground in Goregaon,” said a Shiv Sena activ- ist, who attended the meeting. The Uddhav faction of the Shiv Sena was the first to submit an application to the BMC requesting permission to hold the Dussehra rally at Shivaji Park on October 05. The Rebel MLA faction led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also submitted an application seeking a permit for the rally at the same venue on Dussehra day . Further, the Shinde faction also applied for permission to hold a rallyatMMRDAground in Bandra Kurla Com- plex (BKC) as an alter- native venue. BMC officials have since maintained that as the legal proceedings of both factions over be- ing the ‘real’ Shiv Sena are pending before the Supreme Court’s Con- stitution bench, the civic body’s legal de- partment will give its opinion on the rally matter before it can grant permission. When he was politi- cally active, Balasaheb Thackeray’s speech at the Dussehra rally would attract Shiv Sena activists from all over Maharashtra. The rebellion by Eknath Shinde and 40 MLAs has charged up ordi- nary Sena activists and the rally is likely to at- tract a huge crowd from across the state this year. First India Bureau Aurangabad: Maha- rashtra Chief Minis- ter Eknath Shinde on Saturday said his government would carry out various de- velopment projects in Marathwada region of the state. He also said that a periodic review of these works will be undertaken. Shinde was in Au- rangabad city to attend the Hyderabad Libera- tion Day (also known as Marathwada Mukti Sangram Din) anniver- sary programme, where he hoisted the tricolour. The day marks the anniversary of Marathwada’s inte- gration with India after the Indian military de- feated the Nizam to merge Hyderabad into the Indian Union. Addressing people on the occasion, the chief minister said, “The government is un- dertaking various de- velopment works in the Marathwada region and a periodic review of these works will be taken from the war room.” “We will carry out development works at the Ghrushneshwar temple in Ellora. The government is also positive about setting up a sports university, carrying out the reno- vation of Paithan gar- den and the museum in Aurangabad, imple- mentation of water pipeline schemes in Jalna and Aurang- abad, among other things,” he said. Instructions have also been given to the authorities to expedite the work of the memo- rial of Shiv Sena found- er Bal Thackeray in Aurangabad, he said. Talking to reporters after the event, Shinde said, “A national-level event to mark the Hy- derabad Liberation Day will take place in Hyderabad on this day for three states (Telan- gana, Maharashtra and Karnataka that were part of the Nizam rule till September 17,1948).” A project has been undertaken to divert to the Marathwada the water that drains into the sea to mitigate the region’s problems aris- ing out of the drought situation, he said. When asked, Shinde said the government has not given a stay on the allotment of indus- trial plots in the state. “No such decision about a stay on the al- lotment of plots to in- dustry has been taken. A review has been tak- en. The government is committed to take max- imum service to the in- vestors coming here,” he said. He was reacting to a query about reports that the government has ordered a stay on the MIDC plots allotted after June 01, 2022, ask- ing the authorities to review the allotment sanctioned. Samples of the pow- der for babies did not conform to standard pH value during a labora- tory test, said the regu- lator. The release said the action was taken after Kolkata-based Central Drugs Laboratory’s conclusive report that concludes “the sample does not conform to IS 5339:2004 with respect to the test for pH.” According to the re- lease, FDA had drawn samples of Johnson’s Baby Powder from Pune and Nashik for quality check purposes. Govt restores all MHADA decision making powers First India Bureau Pune: A govern- ment resolution (GR) was issued on Friday to restore powers of the Ma- harashtra Hous- ing Area and De- velopment Author- ity (MHADA), thereby enabling the body to take its own decisions. However, Jitendra Awhad, who was the housing develop- ment minister dur- ing the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) gov- ernment’s regime, said he had taken over the powers of MHADA as the gov- ernment had “zero knowledge” of its functioning. According to Awhad, every gov- ernment body has to operate within the purview of the gov- ernment and its rules and regula- tions. In the case of MHADA, the govern- ment was not getting information as to what it was doing. “The government had ‘zero knowledge’ about its functioning. Andthatisthereason the housing ministry had taken over the decision-making powers,” Awhad said on Saturday . As per the resolu- tion, MHADA offi- cials will no longer have to rely on the government for deci- sion-making. The GR will allow MHADA to make its own deci- sions regarding rede- velopment proposals, allotment of houses, transfer of employ- ees and the like. Awhad even said that he has no objec- tions to the Shinde- Fadnavis govern- ment restoring the powers of MHADA. “Every government takes its own deci- sions which it thinks are appropriate. They are Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 72nd birthday gift to In- dia. The eight big cats translo- cated to the Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh from Na- mibia were released into the for- est by the prime minister to mark his birthday on Saturday . The sleek sprinter of the wild was hunted down by the lovers of big game sport with the last of them being brought down in 1947. Their translocation will not only restore ecological bal- ance but also revive the grass- lands and forests of Kuno Park. The second coming of chee- tahs must be welcomed with crossed fingers as it is an exper- iment fraught with risks. Such international translocations in the wild have low success rates. Even With the prime minister’s keen interest in the project vet- erinarians, park officials and the MP government all will have to conspire to ensure its success. The Common- wealth was than a small or- ganisation. The Queen be- came Head of Common- wealth the same year. Till 1947 it was a white man’s club: United Kingdom, Aus- tralia, New Zealand and Can- ada. India and Pakistan be- came members on becoming independent. Ceylon fol- lowed in 1948. In 1957 Ghana became the eighth member. Government has taken the correct decision for Presi- dent Droupadi Murmu to represent India at the funeral of the Queen. She will get to know many of her counter- parts. Several hundred Heads of State and Government have been invited. Most will be in London by the Septem- ber 18. Will President XI of China and President Putin attend? The funeral is on the September 19. No country can out do the United Kingdom in planning and organising ceremonial events. The late Queen’s jour- ney from Buckingham Place to Westminster Hall on Sep- tember 14 was as memorable as it was spectacular. The World is running out of Monarchies. UK, Japan followed by Cambodia, Thai- land, Brunei, the Malay Kingdoms, Bhutan, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf King- doms. The last eight are not democracies. Has the British monarchy a future. The Queen was widely admired, popular and respected. King Charles III is not endowed with these in- dispensable qualities. I have met him three or four times. The first time in February 1975 in New Delhi. He was ac- companied by Lord Mount- batten. They stayed in New Delhi for two days. I was then Deputy High Commissioner in London. I came to New Delhi a couple of days before the arrival of Prince Charles and Uncle Dickie. They left Delhi for Kathmandu after two days to attend the coronation of the King of Nepal. By then Charles, was somewhat irri- tated with Mountbatten. At Palam airport Prince Charles took me aside and said, “I would very much like to come again in October for a longer stay. If that is con- venient to you, but without Uncle Dickie.” “Your Royal Highness, you are most wel- come”. King Charles III is 73 years of age. Will he attain the age of his mother? That will cer- tainly prolong the life of Brit- ain’s monarchy . BHARAT JODO YATRA Rahul Gandhi is fifty two years of age. He looks fit and healthy . As far as one knows he has not been a patient ad- mittedtoahospitalevenonce. If anyonecompletetheBharat Jodo Yatra it will be Rahul, provided he does not decide to go on a trip outside India. The most famous yatra was Gandhiji’s in March- April 1930, from Sabarmati Ashram to Dandi to break the salt laws in March-April 1930. The Dandi march attracted worldwide attention. Some years ago Murli Manohar Joshiji walked from South India to Srinagar to hoist the BJP flag in Lal Chowk in Srinagar. He was then President of the BJP. The late Prime Minister Chandra Shekherji and for- mer Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Digvijay Singh, also undertook shorter yatras. The Bharat Jodo Yatra will take 150 days to reach Srinagar, a distance of 3,500 KM from Kanyakumari. What is the objective of the Bharat Jodo Yatra? Bharat remains united. No worth- while government will per- mit dismemberment of the country. Interest in Rahul’s yatra will be eroded, if the number of participants is dramatically reduced on the way to Srinagar. If 500 con- gress walkers reach Srina- gar, the congress will earn some ‘cudos’. Its revival is a very distant dream. The ma- laise is too deep. IN THE COURTYARD Mahesh Sharma New Delhi: The Con- gress party did manage to save its MLAs from the BJP in Goa. In July, when the information about the breakdown of the MLA was first re- ceived, Congress Presi- dent Sonia Gandhi hur- riedly sent the party’s General Secretary Mukul Wasnik to Goa. HemetalltheMLAsand when he came to know that some MLAs of the party had made up their mind to join the BJP , he sent five MLAs to Chen- nai. Digambar Kamat and Michael Lobo, who were then trying to break the party, had a totalof fiveMLAs,while eight legislators were needed to avoid the anti- defection law. That’s when the attempt failed. After that the Con- gress removed Michael Lobo as the leader of the legislature party . Now the big question that is being raised in party circles is why was Lobo made a leader after the election? Lobo has been in the Congress earlier but had switched to the BJP and was a minister in the BJP government. Before the elections, he had left the BJP and re- turned to the Congress and the party had given tickets to both him and his wife. Both also won and after winning, the Congress made him the leader of the legislature party . This was a big mistake which angered the old and loyal leaders of the party, including Digambar Kamat. Kamat needed an ex- cuse for an opportunity to leave the party. He was tired of being in constant opposition and wanted power. Last time he was hopeful that maybe next time Congress would win. But when the Con- gress’s seats fell further, he made up his mind to leave the party . How did Congress manage to axe its own foot in Goa? Take for example his recent stand on the Agneepath scheme. He had com- pletely opposed the Ag- neepath plan brought for four years’ recruit- ment in the army and had demanded full-time jobs instead of making the youth Agniveers. But now, he is saying that he fully supports the scheme. He is the only leader of the oppo- sition who is openly supporting this plan. The rest of the opposi- tion leaders are still op- posing it or at least not supporting it. The state governments are giving the help to the army that is being sought in organizing recruitment rallies for the inducting Agniveers, but the Op- position parties are not supporting it. In Punjab also the state government was to provide similar help to the army, but when the army did not get help in Punjab, it shot a letter to the Chief Minister that if it does not help in or- ganizing the rallies for recruitment, then the army will organize ral- lies in other states in- stead of Punjab. Re- sponding to this letter, Kejriwal said that he is not in favor of this scheme but when the government has taken a decision, he fully sup- ports it. Now just imag- ine the double talk. If Kejriwal is not in favor of any law, then how can he support the deci- sion of the government? And if he thinks his changing the stance was right, then why did he not do so in the case of agricultural laws? Central banks have raised rates “with a degreeof synchronicity not seen over the past five dec- ades” to tackle soaring pric- es, World Bank said. Raising rates makes bor- rowing more expensive to try to bring down the pace of price rises. But it also makes loans more costly, which can slow economic growth. NO ROOM FOR COMPLACENCY ON THE INFLATION FRONT: FINANCE MINISTRY New Delhi: A Finance Ministry report on Saturday underlined the need for deft management of stocks of agriculture commodities in view of lower crop-sowing for the Kharif Season, stressing there should be no room for complacency on the inflation front. Overall, inflation- ary pressures in India appear to be on a decline with a pre-emptive set of administrative measures by the govern- ment, agile monetary policy and easing of international commodity prices and supply-chain bottlenecks, according to the monthly Economic Review released by the Finance Ministry. However, it said, there is no “room for complacency on the inflation front as lower crop- sowing for the Kharif season calls for deft management of stocks of agricul- tural commodities and market prices without unduly jeopardising farm exports.” India’s rice production could fall by 10-12 million tonnes during the Kharif season this year due to a fall in paddy sowing area, Food Secretary Sudhanshu Pandey had said earlier this month. The Kharif season contributes about 80% of India’s total rice production. Economicgrowthtoimprovesoon:Govt New Delhi (Agencies): As contact-intensive services have revived and there is growth in private consump- tion, economic growth is expected to improve in the coming months, the month- ly economic review re- leased by Finance Ministry on Saturday said. The review noted that as external pressures will di- minish, inflationary pres- sures are expected to wear down. India’s GDP growth was 13.5 per cent in the first quarter of the cur- rent fiscal. “Increase in private consumption and higher capacity utilisation in the current year has further reinvigorated the capex cycle to take the in- vestment rate in the first quarter of 2022-23 to one of its highest levels in the last decade,” it said. Released by the depart- ment of economic services, it further noted that with the economic growth in the first quarter of the current fiscal much ahead of the pre-pandemic period, i.e. the first quarter of 2019-20. “The real GDP in the first quarter of 2022-23 is now nearly four per cent ahead of its corresponding level of 2019-20, marking a strong beginning to India’s growth revival in the post-pandem- ic phase, the review said. It further said that sustained growth in government’s revenues will also aid capi- tal expenditure during the current fiscal. Risks to growth and inflation tra- jectories persist as India is integrated with the rest of the world, the finance ministry said. Core inflation may also remainstickyinthemonths ahead as companies pass on higher inputs costs to the consumersoonerthanlater. During the winter months, heightened international focus on energy security in advanced nations could el- evate geopolitical tensions, testing India’s astute han- dling of its energy needs so far. FOREX RESERVES DROP BY $2.23 BN, HIT LOWEST LEVEL IN TWO YEARS Adani Properties withdraws proposal to delist Adani Power RBI to bring card tokenisation norms into effect from Oct 1 Mumbai (PTI): The Re- serve Bank of India (RBI) is ready to bring its card-on- filetokenisationnormsinto effect from October 1 after various complaints were filed regarding the misuse of debit or credit cards. Several people were cheated in the last few years by cyber frauds be- cause they have stored their card data on the mer- chants website for future payments. Lets us understand what these new norms are and why you should tokenise your card. Firstly, tokenisation means the details of your cards such as 16-digit num- ber, names, expiry dates and codes which you used to save earlier for the fu- ture payments will now be replaced by a token. The token is used by the merchant`s website for the transaction. The RBI is implement- ing these norms of tokeni- sation in order to secure the card details of the cus- tomers. Currently, the bank card details are saved by a merchant during a transaction. If, the merchant`s web- site is hacked, the details of the customers will be exposed.Post implementa- tion of these norms all the customers data will be with the bank and not with the merchant website. Securing/Tokenisation also helps you save the hassle of inputting your complete card details each time. Customers need not have to pay any charges for availing this service. Securing/Tokenisation also helps you save the hassle of inputting your complete card details each time. Customers need not have to pay any charges for availing this service. Further, banks will also provide a portal to their customers to view or man- age their tokenised cards to ensure no fraud. CUSTOMERS HAVE TO FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET THEIR CARDS TOKENISED Step 1: Visit your favourite online application/website to pur- chase grocery, pay bills or order food and initiate a transaction. Step 2: In the check-out page, select HDFC Bank Credit/Debit Card and provide CVV. Step 3: Tick mark the check box “Secure your Card” or “Save Card as per RBI guidelines”. Step 4: Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number. Step 5: Congratulations!!! Your card details are now secured. Once the customer tokenised their cards they will be able to recognise their details on the merchants website using the last 4 four digits of the cards, which is the only data the merchant will be able to save on their portal. • 9. First India Bureau Mumbai: The Motor Accident Claims Tri- bunal (MACT) in Mumbai gave a rare decision by increas- ing the sum of com- pensation sought by a family by almost Rs5 lakh. Sanjay Ingale (39), the sole bread earner of his family died in an ac- cident that took place at the Mumbai-Pune Ex- pressway on February 11, 2016. He was coming from Airoli to Shirur when the incident took place. While Ingale was re- pairing a mechanical fault of his truck that stood at Mumbai-Pune Expressway, a trailer coming at a very high speed, dashed into his truck causing its front tyre to go over Ingale, who died on the spot. Since the family did not have any evidence to prove that Sanjay was 39 years old, the tri- bunal went for the age mentioned as 44 in the advanced post-mortem certificate. His family also did not have docu- ments to show that In- gale was earning Rs10,000 per month, so the Tribunal took Rs8,000 per month as his income. The annual income was thus, taken to be Rs96,000, factoring 25% more for the pros- pects of the deceased. “Yearly income was Rs1,20,000 and out of which 1/4th was de- ducted for personal ex- penses. As per Supreme Court guidelines, the suitable multiplier is 14 with the age, thus the loss of dependency was Rs12,60,000. The fixed funeral expenses and loss of estate will be Rs15,000. With a 10% in- crease in conventional heads every three years, the family is entitled to receive Rs14,69,000 and added a rate of interest of 7% per annum,” the Bench directed. After attending the function, Fadnavis travelled to Shree Nagar, where an event was planned on the occasion of Prime Minister Nar- endra Modi’s birthday . Fadnavis met with them on the roadside and took their represen- tation, said Shewale. “As the convoy had to move further, the police cleared the road and moved the youngsters aside by hitting lathis on the ground. There was no lathi charge as such and no one was injured. We detained some of them and let them go af- ter questioning,” assert- ed Shewale. The simulation is also a part of the efforts to improvethesafetymeas- ures which are highly critical in cases of a threat to the life of pas- sengers and employees. Rahul and Congress are in awe of the initial successes of the ‘BharatJodoYatra’.This visit of Rahul is also in- tendedtogiveabigjump to the Congress’s seat countin2024.Keepingin view the ‘24 elections, Rahul’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ispassingthrough the same states where the Congress is seeing some ray of hope, where they have a cadre, a lead- er, and thus, a hope. Where there is no hope, likeinUP ,the‘Yatra’has been reduced to 5 days. Those states have also been left where the Con- gress is dependent on its allies, such as Tamil Nadu, where the Con- gress’s journey lasted only 3 days. The journey started from Kanyaku- mariandreached Kerala on the thirddaybecause theCongresspoli- tics in Tamil Nadu is de- p e n - dent o n DMK.Rahul’sjourneyis to last 19 days in a small state like Kerala, 21 days in Karnataka, and 13 days in Telangana. That is, in a journey of 148 days, Rahul is spending 53 days only in those 3 states of the South. Sim- ilarly , the assembly elec- tions are to be held in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradeshnextyear, where the Congress wants to maintain its previous performance. Rahul’s journey in Rajasthan is of 21 days and in Mad- hya Pradesh it is of 16 days. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, there were 29 seats where the BJP defeated the Con- gress by a small margin and 57 seats where the BJP’s victory margin over the Congress was less than one lakh. So, this time on these 86 Lok Sabha seats, Con- gress wants to put its full emphasis and wants to at least double its seats as com- pared to 2019. IS DIDI’S CHARISMA FADING AWAY? Trinamool leader Mamata Banerjee is tryingtobecomethenew head of the Opposition unit, but her own house seems to have been marred with strife. Take the example of Goa, the champion land of defec- tion, from where Luiz- inho Faleiro, came to TMC just before the Goa elections, didn’t even contest the Assembly elections, and went straight to the Rajya Sabha. Now it is being said that Mamata is an- gry with him these days. Flerio, aformerGoaCM, has won seven assembly elections, despite this Mamata did not give him a place in the TMC’s Goacorecom- mitteeasDidi is probably aware that these days, Fa- leiro is giving saffron color to his dreams, so in the Presidential and Vice- Presidential elec- tions, he supported the NDA and towed a line other than TMC. His votes were in support of Droupadi Murmu and JagdeepDhankhar. Now Didi has been informed Faleiro may go to the BJP’s court very soon. Sourcesrevealthatama- jor reason for this is the factthattheFaleirofam- ily has a large and luxu- rious resort in the coast- al area, which still falls under the legal defini- tion of illegal and legal- izing it can take up to three years. Not even six months have passed since BJP government was formed in Goa and 8 Congress MLAs have already shifted to BJP . There is a huge void in the- name of Opposi- tion,soFaleirois being cautious doesn’t want to take risk. WILL SUSHMITA ALSO FOLLOW LUIZINHO FALEIRO’S PATH? Sushmita Dev, who hails from a big po- litical family of Assam, who left Congress and joined TMC, has also made up her mind to leaveTMC.Infact,Sush- mita is worried about her political future. When she left the Con- gress, she used to be an important member of Rahul Gandhi’s core team. Sushmita hoped that Mamata would at least send her to RS. But this didn’t happen and Sushmita’s hopes were shattered. Sushmita is alsowellawarethatwin- ning the LS polls in As- sam on a TMC ticket is nothing less than mira- cle. So, she has already started exploring the new door of possibili- ties.Suchisthesituation now that when TMC’s core group meeting was going on in Guwahati andinsteadof Sushmita attending that meeting, she went to meet Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sar- ma, Didi scolded Sush- mita to which Sushmita replied naively and said, “I had gone to talk to the CM that’s why so many atrocitiesarebeingcom- mitted against the peo- ple of our party in the state?” Didi couldn’t say anything further! WHAT DOES TEJASHWI THINK FOR NITISH? Recently, Bihar’s Deputy CM and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav held a tea party at his house and invited senior leaders of his party who couldn’t find a place in the new coalition gov- ernment of Bihar de- spite their seniority. Tejashwi was sharing his mind with these leaders when suddenly a senior RJD leader who came from Munger asked Tejashwi, “You made Nitish Kumar again the CM while his vote percentage is less in front of our party at only 10-12%, and on rid- ing our vote share, he is dreaming of becoming nation’s PM in 2024. And what have you got in return, only the post of Deputy CM?” Tejash- wi listened carefully and patiently answered, “You are senior to me in both age experience. Try to understand that in Bihar there are 40 LS seats. Congress and Left will fight on 4-6 seats in 2024. Out of the remaining 34 seats, 17- 17 seats will be left for RJD and JDU. Our tar- get is that this time we have to win all these 17 seats by employing our entire might. Now it is up to Nitish ji that how many seats he can win out of his share of 17. Political observers tell that Nitish ji can get 12 seats, so can anyone with 12 seats be a seri- ous PM candidate? Del- hi’s media will also have to understand this.” ...AND FINALLY In the recently con- cludedRaipursession of theRSS,inwhichBJP President JP Nadda and Organisation General Secretary BL Santosh had specially come to Raipur to attend, there was a rift in relations be- tween the Sangh and the BJP . The Sangh believes thatinlastfewyears, the BJP has achieved the de- sired political expan- sion, but in comparison, Sangh hasn’t been able to give desired expan- sion to its organisation. The Sangh is also said to beangrywithBJPthatit wasn’t involved in changing K’taka’s CM, whereBJPhasexpanded due to Sangh’s efforts. Sangh’s opinion wasn’t taken when BJP in- charges were changed beforeSangh’scoordina- tion meet in Raipur. Acc to sources, Modi Shah want to extend tenure of BJP’s current National President JP Nadda till 2024, while Sangh is pro- jecting Un- ion Min- ister Ni- tin Gad- kari as new BJP P r e s i - dent.
