2. A Perfect combination offer enhanced Efficacy...
Ceflenic ensures best quality as it’s manufacturing
methods follow WHO approved cGMP guidelines.
*Techno Drugs ensures qualitative raw material of
Cefuroxime Axetil & Clavulanic Acid. The raw materials are
imported from USFDA, UKAS and ISO certified sources. As a
result
Ceflenic confirms highest purity and quality.
4. MOA of Cefuroxime and Clavulanic acid:
Cefuroxime acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. Lack of bacterial cell wall results in
death due to lysis of bacteria.
Clavulanic acid has a similar structure to the beta-lactam antibiotics but binds irreversibly to the
beta-lactamase enzymes.
Used in combination with the beta-lactam antibiotics, it has become one of the most prescribed
antibiotics prolonging the effective life of antibiotics. Thus, the combination of cefuroxime and
clavulanic acid (β-lactamase inhibitor) provides a solution for treatment of bacterial infections
caused by beta lactam resistant pathogens.
7. Indication and Usage:
Acute Bacterial Maxillary Sinusitis
caused by
Streptococcus pneumoniae or
Haemophilus influenzae
8. Indication and Usage:
Acute Bacterial Exacerbations
of Chronic Bronchitis by
Streptococcus pneumoniae,
Haemophilus Influenzae
The ideal choice to treat Respiratory Tract Infections
9. Indication and Usage:
Uncomplicated Skin and Skin-
Structure Infections caused by
Staphylococcus aureus (including β-
lactamase–producing strains)
or Streptococcus pyogenes.
15. Use in pregnancy & lactation:
During pregnancy: While all antibiotics should be avoided in
the first trimester if possible.
However, Ceflenic can be safely used in later pregnancy to treat
urinary and other infections.
During lactation: Because Cefuroxime-clav is excreted in
human milk, consideration should be given to discontinuing
nursing temporarily during treatment with Cefuroxime.
US FDA Pregnancy Category ‘B’
16. Returns back the efficacy of Cefuroxime against resistant
pathogens
In a study, the sensitivity of 40 ß-lactamase producing isolates was recorded. The
study was done by using antibiotic disks of Cefuroxime and the disks containing
same concentration of the Cefuroxime with ß-lactamase inhibitor Clavulanic Acid.
Result:
Sensitivity of ß-lactamase producing strains was increased significantly
using combination of Cefuroxime and Clavulanic Acid.
Ensures desired efficacy of Cefuroxime against resistant
pathogens.
