 We often misunderstand who the real leader
is. Most of the time, when someone is
seeking for leadership positions, he is guided
by selfishness and desire of power.
 We misinterpret the role and the raison d'être
of a leader. We usually think that being a
leader is having the right to do what we want
without the consent of others.
 In fact, we all know who the leader really is.
We often say it and repeat it. Unfortunately,
we just do not do the same in our acts.
-Someone who sees others before himself
-Someone who is willing to make sacrifices for others.
-Someone who always show up no matter what
-A leader does not see glory and fame as motivations. The work that he is
getting done, and the satisfaction that the people get from it, are his only
inspirations
-A team worker. He finds his joy working with people and for people.
He believes that love is stronger than fear, and then makes sure that
the people who follow him, follow him by love not by fear.
-A teacher. He finds joy teaching others what he knows. He is
always willing to share his leadership skills, and he is not scared of
other upcoming leaders. Instead, he wants to facilitate their routes
by being their mentor.
I am an International Student from Haiti. I was born in Haiti, and I was
raised there by parents who took the time to teach me about love and
sharing. I have an incredible mother who taught me about defending
the powerless and being a voice for the voiceless. After only 8 months
being in the United States, despite the cultural shock of adaption, I do
not change and I maintain the same values. Being a Honors Programs
Student, a Phi Theta Kappa member, International Student Society
member and a Student Government executive and building my own
Business Company, do not unable me from being a personal tutor for
some acquaintances. In fact, the latter is really what I am proud of. I
believe that being a human, is being able to be useful. After learning
English by myself, I try to help French-speaking and Creole-speaking
immigrants in adapting to the American society.
I am a leader because I want to be active. I use my intelligence, my
skills and my sense of organization to help people. And that I
strongly believe that this is what a leader does.
Actually, I am Building my
Start-up company. It is a
mobile application inspired
by a revolutionary idea that
does not exist on the
market yet. I am opened to
advises, mentorships and
partnerships. I am actually
looking for a job as well. I
want to bring my
competence, intelligence
and skills to business-
minded people like me.
From speaking 4 different
languages to being active
and organized, I have the
gifted competence to make
things go from zero to 100.
