Sysmex work/life policies provide:
Paid Time Off: Sysmex provides paid time off to all eligible
employees for vacations and periods of temporary absence
due to illness or injury, to attend to personal, non-work
related concerns or to observe holidays not recognized by
Sysmex. Paid time off is accrued through the calendar year.
Holidays: Sysmex observes the following holidays:
New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor
Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day after Thanksgiving,
December 25 and one day prior to or after December 25.
Flextime: Flexible scheduling, when approved, is available
to all employees who wish to vary their starting and ending

Sysmex is derived from the combination of the words “system” and “medical” with the “x” signifying unlimited
possibilities. Previously known as TOA Medical Electronics, we officially changed our name to Sysmex Corporation
in 1998.
Sysmex Overview
Sysmex is a global corporation that grew out of the Japanese electronics firm TOA Electric Co., Ltd. (now TOA
Corporation) as a means of applying its core competence in electronics to the medical industry.
• By 1963, the company had developed its first blood cell counter, TOA Automated Hematology Analyzer CC-1001,
and released it to the Japanese market.
• As a result of early market acceptance and growth, TOA Medical
Electronics Co., Ltd. was formed in 1968, and in 1978 the brand
name “Sysmex” was adopted globally.
• Sysmex Corporation (Kobe, Japan) is now a publicly traded
company listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange and Osaka
Securities Exchange.
• It is headquartered in Kobe, Japan, with offices throughout Japan,
North and South America, Europe and Asia-Pacific.
We are an integrated manufacturer of diagnostic systems and a
provider of marketing and service of clinical laboratory testing
devices, reagents and software—covering the fields
of hematology, hemostasis, immuno-chemistry, particle analysis
and urinalysis.
Sysmex has its own global network of marketing, production, research
and development at 49 sites in 32 countries and employs over 6,000
people worldwide.
Sysmex America, Inc. (SAI) is one of 4 regional headquarters of
Sysmex Corporation.
Currently, SAI operations include the company’s corporate offices
in Lincolnshire, manufacturing reagent plants in Illinois and Brazil, a
Brazilian subsidiary, Sysmex Latin America the Caribbean, a Miami
