3. Contacts
❖ Already, many publicists and PR firms have expressed
interests in scheduling interviews for their clients
including:
❖ Much and House PR, Epic Records, MLC PR, Atlantic
Records, Manos PR, Platform PR, Gypsy Fade, AEF
PR, and U music.
4. The Teenage Post Difference
❖ We are aiming to create one source for teenagers to
receive their news. Currently, they visit Buzzfeed, The
Guardian, New York Times, Washington Post, E!, etc.
Ultimately, the goal is to create one website that has the
the different article genres of these websites, while still
targeting the 15-21 age demographic.
5. Why We Need You
❖ Right now, we have no physical space, which is not a
huge issue. We need funds to create a competitive
website as well as an iPhone app. Ultimately, the
iPhone app is the number one priority, as that is
primarily how teens view news. Funds are also
necessary to hire one or two main writers.
6. How We Will Make $$
❖ News publications rely on advertisements to sustain
themselves, but besides for traditional advertisements,
our goal is to work with companies who create teenage
products and write features on them. It’s a form of
advertising that will be very subtle, yet it will still be
profitable on our end. I have begun sending pitches to
different advertisers.
7. Who We Are Up Against
❖ When one says “teen news” he thinks of Tigerbeat or J-
14, perhaps even Buzzfeed. But, my target
demographic is too old for those publications, excluding
Buzzfeed, and needs something more than the generic,
celebrity news. Teens in the twenty-first century are
intelligent with a thirst for breaking news—as well as fun
celebrity articles when they need entertainment.
8. Why We Can Beat Buzzfeed
❖ Buzzfeed is a powerhouse; there’s no denying that.
What they fail to achieve is breaking news geared at the
teen demographic. Instead of writing basic coverage
about politics—as Buzzfeed does—we would write how
a particular candidate would affect one’s student loans.
Essentially, everything would be written with a young
adult centric angle.
9. Who Am I
❖ I am Erica Snyder, the CEO and founder of this
company. Previously, I was the Head Writer and Editor
in Chief for InStyleBuzz. Thus, I already have many
connections in the industry, who, as I said before, are
already pitching me clients. Now I need you to help me
get this startup off the ground—to be an investor.
