PCr is the molecule that allows the body to create your body’s energy currency, adenosine triphosphate (ATP), right
inside the muscle for immediate energy. When you take creatine, it enters the circulatory system where it is distributed
to your muscle cells. When it reaches your muscle cell membranes, it begins the absorption process via a number of
specialized creatine transporters. After it’s absorbed, the creatine combines with ATP to produce PCr within the muscle
cells.
Normally, PCr in the muscle cells is rapidly depleted during training, but creatine supplementation increases the body’s
ability to produce work by increasing the storage pool of phosphocreatine in your muscles. This enhances the
resynthesis of phosphocreatine and ATP production during recovery. In the end, creatine will help you lift heavier weights
for longer periods of time – increasing your muscle’ size and strength.
In the last 10 years, numerous new forms of creatine have been introduced. Make no mistake, creatine monohydrate
(one creatine molecule with one water molecule) is the original form of creatine. In fact, no other form of creatine has
