3. Porsche is undoubtedly one of the most successful
performance car companies in the world today.
The company was founded by Dr Ferdinand Porsche
on the 25th of April in 1931.
Dr Ferdinand Porsche had worked as the chief
engineer at Mercedes Benz before he went on to open
his own automotive company in Stuttgart (biography
Porsche).
He designed aircraft engines for planes during the
First World War; his designs were so revolutionary he
received praise from both Adolf Hitler and Josef Stalin.
He even got a job offer from Stalin to help advance
Soviet industrial development; he turned this job down
because of a barrier in language (Klawitter, 2009).
4. Porsche had worked with his son to design cars for his company and inspiration was
drawn from Germanys “car of the people”, the Volkswagen Beetle to design their new
range of 911s. The 911 has been available to purchase since 1964 and 911s today still bare
resemblance to the one unveiled at the 1963 Geneva Motor show, even though the first
one was built more than 50 years ago (Press.porsche ). The 911 is one of the most iconic
cars today and it continues to be Porsches best seller. Porsche now offers many different
models of cars that range from luxurious sports crossovers to track focused sports cars.
What started out as a small automotive company based in a small factory in a small
suburb just outside of Stuttgart has grown to be a massive international company with
roughly 25,000 employees worldwide (newsroom.porsche, 3).

5. The 911 is Porsches flagship car, and although it
has constantly undergone changes to its engine,
aerodynamics, suspension, steering, and
drivetrain, the 911 today is still the same car we fell
in love with in the 1963 Geneva motor show.
Still has the iconic flat six engine in the back and it
still has the same look to it.
Anyone today could look at any 911 and recognize
that it’s a Porsche.
The design is timeless and the car is ever evolving.
The changes made between the 997 models and
the 991 models are immense.
7. The performance figures on 911s are staggering
and the overall quality of them just puts all of
its competitors to shame. This is why Porsche
dominates both on the racetrack and on the
road. The company was started thanks the
Genius of its founder, Ferdinand Porsche, and
it is evident that none of that genius is lost on
us today and that the company is just as
innovative and special today as when it was
first started. All of this proves that the 911 is
ever evolving and that Porsches engineers
never cease to amaze us.
