2. If a recent report is to be believed, Microsoft
could release an internally tested service that
will allow gamers to play Xbox games on their
browser.
If this service is launched by Microsoft, Xbox
One and Xbox 360 titles could be played using
the company’s cloud games service.
3. Microsoft has not yet branded this service, and
company officials have stressed that the cloud
gaming service is still in the prototype stage.
However, this service could also be used by the
company to offer backward compatibility on its
gaming console Xbox One.
4. Streaming console-quality games to mobile
devices or computers is not a new idea. Both
Microsoft and Sony have made several aspects
of their online services available on the latest
smartphones.
Xbox Live runs on the latest Windows Phones.
This technology works by running software and
hardware on sophisticated servers and
streaming data to customers remotely.
5. The release date of Xbox's streaming service
has not been mentioned by Microsoft as yet.
Microsoft will have to consider several factors
before it gives clearance for commercial
release of the Xbox streaming service.
