ADULT

2014

You may have decided to learn English
for life for a variety of reasons. Perhaps
you need to pass an English exam to
gain admission into university or you
hope to improve your job prospects
by becoming fluent in ‘global English’.
Whatever your reasons, at ESE we
understand that as an individual you
have specific learning objectives,
your own preferred learning style and
that you bring your own rich history
of language learning experience to
the classroom.

ESE e-learning

ESE Methodology places
you at the heart of
your learning

By blending face-to-face teaching with online
self-study, you reach your learning goals quicker.
The online learning programme allows you
to work at your own pace after school hours
and frequent use teaches you how to take
responsibility for your own learning. Our
teachers give you regular tutorials on how to
use the e-learning site as well as tips on how
you can maximise your learning experience
through this blended mode of study. It’s all
about learning for life.

As an ESE learner of English, you are an active
participant in your learning process. Our courses
are student-centred and are designed to equip
you with the linguistic tools necessary for you
to develop your skills holistically. This means
that you develop all your core language skills
equally: listening, speaking, reading and writing.
To maximise your learning opportunities, you
are exposed to language in use in natural
and authentic contexts and given activities
with real communicative value to carry out
in small groups or pairs. This, followed by
personalised feedback, remedial and further
practice opportunities by our qualified and
experienced teachers, is the key to your success.

Free access to our e-learning programme allows
you to combine face-to-face teaching with
online self-study from the moment you book
your course till 3 months after your course is
over. It is up to you to determine your own study
plan, focus on the skills you need most, work
extra exam practice papers for that upcoming
English exam, choose topics that arouse your
interest at the right language level for you and
monitor your own progress.

ESE – How blended will you go?

Learning for Life – your
social learning experience
Your language learning experience isn’t confined
to the classroom. Your ESE social experience
gives you more opportunities to practise English
in a real-world context and to process language
in real time. By joining ESE-organised social

activities, you are immersed in an English
speaking context with endless opportunities
to interact with other multilingual language
learners like yourself and make new friends.
You can continue to practise your core skills
and interact with other ESE language learners
by networking socially online and chatting to
others through our ever-growing Facebook
database of fans.
Studying at ESE means learning for life from an
experience you choose to shape... Our Team is
here to welcome You!

Our Teachers
Our pool of permanent EFL teachers are friendly, experienced and wellqualified to teach you and offer you all the support you need. Native-level
speakers, our teachers are adept at helping you define and achieve your
learning objectives. Whatever your language level, you follow classes at
the right level for you.

Continuous Professional Development
Every year our teachers participate in Teacher Training courses as part of
their Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and follow workshops in
a range of EFL teaching areas such as how to: use Interactive Whiteboards
effectively to bring the real world into the classroom, make lessons dynamic,
create in-house teaching resources to make lessons more interesting and
encourage you to become an independent and life-long learner of English
once you finish your course. CPD ensures that our teachers are always upto-date with new teaching trends and technology so that you experience
the highest standards of teaching.

Methodology
ESE methodology places you, the learner, at the centre of your lessons.
Teachers develop their lessons to ensure that you are actively involved in
your learning process and that you are given maximum opportunities for
interaction. Small group activities and pair work mean that you don’t have
to wait too long for practice opportunities and most activities have real
communicative value so you feel that you are learning in a real life scenario.

Accredited Trinity Examination Centre
ESE is an accredited Trinity examination centre for GESE (Graded Examinations
in Spoken English) and ISE (Integrated Skills in English). Teachers are trained
by Trinity to deliver GESE and ISE examination courses in preparation for
the exams.

Accredited TOEIC Examination Centre
ESE is an accredited examination centre for the widely popular TOEIC exam.
Exams are held monthly on set dates and the school offers TOEIC exam
preparation courses throughout the year.

Personal Attention
Small classes ensure that you are given personalised attention, feedback on
your progress and numerous opportunities for interaction with your teacher.

Our School Facilities
ESE school is a large modern school with 60 well-lit classrooms. Classrooms
are air-conditioned and many are equipped with interactive whiteboards.
Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the school. The school houses 2 computer
labs where you can log onto the ESE e-learning programme for self-study
and research after your lessons. A Self-Access Centre/Library is available for
you to borrow learning tools such as dictionaries, DVDs and graded readers.
Such learning aids allow you to consolidate your class-based learning and
progress to more challenging material as you become more confident in
your use of English.

Additional Support
At ESE we have an open door policy so our Director of Studies and Academic
managers are always available to discuss any academic concerns you have.
After lessons are over, one of our experienced Learning Support teachers
is available in the library to assist you with any advice or guidance you
may need.

of English across the 4 core language skills
(speaking, listening, reading and writing),
broaden your vocabulary, improve your grammar
and your pronunciation around topics which are
stimulating and relevant to the modern world.
The Mini Class small group size means that you

opportunities to practise your skills and benefit
from more personalised feedback throughout
the course.

Business English
Following a Business English course will allow
you to improve your English for career or work
purposes. The course is geared to developing
your English across the 4 core language skills
(speaking, listening, reading and writing) and
helping you become more fluent and confident
when speaking about business-related topics
such as Sales, Human Resources, Manufacturing
etc. Plenty of practice opportunities in realistic
scenarios such as meetings, interviews and
other business-related role plays are set up
by your teacher so that you can practise using
your new language skills. You also develop
your knowledge of language (grammar,
vocabulary and pronunciation) and business
skills around general business topics and recent
current affairs.

Business Intensive
The Business Intensive course combines group
sessions with private tuition. This combination of
study modes means that you benefit from group
interaction as well as one-to-one attention
from your teacher and the opportunity to focus
specifically on your learning needs.
In the one-to-one sessions, it’s up to you what
to focus on. Perhaps you prefer to expand
your business vocabulary or improve your
pronunciation to be understood more easily
when conducting business with other nonnative speakers of English. The content of your
individual lessons depends entirely on your
learning needs.

  • 14. Mini Class 20/30 In small groups of 6, you improve your level of English across the 4 core language skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing), broaden your vocabulary, improve your grammar and your pronunciation around topics which are stimulating and relevant to the modern world. The Mini Class small group size means that you have more individual attention and opportunities to interact with your multinational classmates and your teacher. This means that you have more opportunities to practise your skills and benefit from more personalised feedback throughout the course. Entry level: Individual lessons with a teacher allow you to focus on your specific learning needs and objectives. Your teacher carries out a needs analysis with you at the start of your course to determine which language skills and areas of language you wish to focus on so the course content is developed entirely around your needs. You may choose to focus on one of the skills, such as writing, or would like the opportunity to practise your speaking on a one-to-one basis with your teacher.
