Editor's Notes
Hello everyone. As the Senior Marketing Rep. for MarkAD Marketing, I thank you for coming. We are here because, after careful research, I am about to propose a way to increase profits by at least 25%, so let’s begin. On the day our company, MarkAD Marketing, was started- we decided to do business to business Marketing. We also focused our efforts on non-profit organizations ranging from education companies to children foundations to even faith-based organizations. Our specific niche in clientel has made us a well known brand. Now its time to take that business savvy to the next level with social media.
Ladies and Gentlemen, social media is now the fastest form of business advertising. Social media emerged shortly after the internet was publicly launched. Social media became popular when classmates.com was launched in 1995. This was of course the site where anyone could reconnect with old friends from schools they both attended. Fast forward a few years to 2000 and you see the start of the now household company Wikipedia. Amazingly, in the first year, people submitted over 20,000 articles to their site. After 2001, Social Media really took off with sites like Meetup.com, Facebook, YouTube, and the well known Twiter.

So how can social media be used to capitalize in business. Let’s look at a well known shoe retailer, Zappos. Zappos is a shoe retailer that has an average of 198 employees on twitter active with customers. Zappos was started in 1999 with CEO Tony Hsieh. They are very customer oriented and focus a lot on customer relationships. The Importance of this fact is that through the Zappos shopping experience, orders can be posted on twitter. Social commerce today published the value of Zappos’ social media advertising. The labs concluded that each sale shared on twitter generated a massive $33.66. In 2008, Zappos hit 1 billion in sales, two years earlier than expected. And in 2009, they were acquired with Amazon and has been going strong since.

By using digital media, we can save on our marketing expense and increase our volume. Tradition marketing cost more and by using this approach we save more for other resources. The internet is always running. By using social media, we have the opportunity to increase our customer landscape, as well as, improve on the service of our clients.
Now that we know the potential of this decision, let’s begin. Opportunities only comes rare, and this is one we cannot pass up. We can begin by creating a team to move in action. We are a well known marketing firm and we must stay ahead of our competitors. So let’s make it happen.
