Letter of Recommendation-Dr. Anamika Sharma
Please accept this letter as a reflection of my feedback on Dr. Anamika Sharma’s teaching expertise.
I was introduced to Anamika as a student mentee enrolled in the College Teacher Training Program
at George Brown College. This program is designed to introduce professionally trained international
students to the Canadian classroom environment and provide means to expand their teaching and
intercultural communication skills.
As Anamika’s faculty mentor, I welcomed her to take part in the Biology-for Health Sciences course.
This course specifically focuses on introducing biological principles and how they relate to the
functioning of the human body.
Though a trained physicist, Anamika truly impressed me with her versatility in handling the subject
matter outside of her comfort level. She offered a conducive learning environment by understanding
the classroom diversity and promoting inclusiveness. Anamika always took her role as an educator
with a lot of dedication. Prior to delivering a well-planned session, Anamika always discussed the
topic and was very open to receiving and incorporating constructive feedback from me in her lesson
plan. She showed great enthusiasm in stimulating intellectual curiosity and directly involved the
students in a live-online based Kahoot learning modules-that extended their learning beyond a Power
Point presentation. The students enjoyed this innovative way of learning so much that it has now
officially become a part of the course-thanks to Anamika!
I personally witnessed Anamika’s commitment towards the students’ progress when she took up the
challenge in creating questions for student assessments. Her questions provided clear instructions-
that was concise, logical and understandable by the students.
Collectively, I believe that Anamika has the necessary skills to develop into an outstanding educator.
She has taken advantage of several opportunities to hone her skills in teaching, and understands the
commitment required to be an effective educator. I wish her best and fully support her future
endeavours in Teaching and Learning.
Sincerely,
