Consist of 2 words Anukta + Dravya.
Anukta = अन् + उक्ता
• Literary meaning- unsaid or unuttered.
• अनुक्त or नोक्त is a द्रव्य which is not included in
Ayurvedic pharmacopeia of India or not found in Ayurveda
classics of different period.
• The term Anukta dravya means that the drugs ,which are
available in this universe, have to be studied for their
morphology on botanical lines and to give shastric (literary)
validation of identification on the lines of Ayurvedic
philosophic for conversion and utilisation .

• India due to its vastness and diverse flora and fauna brings a
wider role of studying new plants with the emergence of new
technology, need of herbal medicines – Thus we should look
forward for alternate source/ novel plants which are yet to be
explored and evaluate them with appropriate evaluation
methods.
