Welcome
Thanksgiving for Baptism
P: Blessed be the holy Trinity,
one God, the fountain of living
water, the rock who gave us birth,
our light and our salvation.
All: Amen
P: Joined to Christ in the waters
of baptism, we are clothed with
God’s mercy and forgiveness.
Let us give thanks for the gift
of baptism.
All: We give you thanks, O God,
for in the beginning
your Spirit moved over the
waters and by your Word
you created the world,
calling forth life in which
you took delight.
P: Through the waters of the flood
you delivered Noah and his family.
Through the sea you led your
people Israel from slavery into
freedom. At the river your Son was
baptized by John and anointed with
the Holy Spirit. By water and your
Word you claim us as daughters
and sons, making us heirs of your
promise and servants of all.
All: We praise you for the gift
of water that sustains life,
and above all we praise you
for the gift of new life in
Jesus Christ.
P: Shower us with your Spirit, and
renew our lives with your
forgiveness, grace and love.
All: To you be given honor and
praise through Jesus Christ
our Lord in the unity of the
Holy Spirit, now and forever.
Amen.
The King of Glory

Willard Jabusch
The King of Glory comes,
the nation rejoices!
Open the gates before him!
Lift up your voices!
Who is the King of Glory?
How shall we call him?
He is Emmanuel
The promised of ages!
The King of Glory comes,
the nation rejoices!
Open the gates before him!
Lift up your voices!
In all of Galilee,
In city or village,
He goes among his people
Curing their illness!
The King of Glory comes,
the nation rejoices!
Open the gates before him!
Lift up your voices!
Sing then of David’s son,
Our Savior and brother;
In all of Galilee
was never another!
The King of Glory comes,
the nation rejoices!
Open the gates before him!
Lift up your voices!
He gave his life for us,
The Lamb of salvation;
He took upon himself
The sins of the nation!
The King of Glory comes,
the nation rejoices!
Open the gates before him!
Lift up your voices!
He conquered sin and death,
He truly has risen
And he will share with us
His heavenly vision!
The King of Glory comes,
the nation rejoices!
Open the gates before him!
Lift up your voices!
(Sing 2x)
Confession
P: The Lord be with you.

All: And also with you.
P: Let us pray:
Confession
All: Ancient of days, first-born
from the dead, timeless Spirit,
we confess that too often we are
overawed by the wealth and
power of human rulers forgetting
that they are as mortal as we
are, and that only Jesus Christ
has won an impressive victory
Confession
over death. Forgive us if political
and national loyalties have
superseded the dignity you offer
us as a royal house of priests to
serve you. You have sent us your
faithful Son, Jesus Christ, but we
listen to him less attentively than
to less demanding voices around
Confession
us. We admit that we too are
among the people whose sins
have wounded him. Forgive and
free us from all our sins for the
sake of him who gave himself for
us.
Amen.
Assurance of Forgiveness
P: Hear the Good News! Christ loves
us and frees us from our sins with
his life’s blood to make us a royal
house to serve as priests of his God
and Father. Friends, believe the
Good News! In Jesus Christ we are
forgiven.

ALL:

Thanks be to God!! Amen!
Prayer of the Day
O God, our true life, to serve you
is freedom, and to know you is
unending joy. We worship you,
we glorify you, we give thanks to
you for your great glory.
Abide with us, reign in us, and
make this world into a fit
habitation for your divine
majesty, through Jesus Christ,
our Savior and Lord, who lives
and reigns with you and the
Holy Spirit, one God, now and
forever. Amen

Kingdom of God
Paul Baloche

With great endurance Lord, I'm
gonna run this race;
Pressing toward the goal
I will follow You
with eyes of faith;
You're training these hands for
war, You're showing me
how to fight;
Standing on the Word,
Taking up the
sword of truth
and life.
The Kingdom of God,
the Kingdom of God is here
We believe the calling
is urgent;
The Kingdom of God,
the Kingdom of
God is here;
We're alive for something eternal
We're gonna fight
the good fight,
Givin' it all for
the Savior's
sacrifice (Hey!)
Teach me to walk in love,
Shine as a light in me;
Even in the dark,
I will live to be
Your hands
and feet
I wanna see like You,
So open my eyes I pray,

Lead me to the lost
Send me for
the glory of
Your name.
The Kingdom of God,
the Kingdom of God is here
We believe the calling is urgent
The Kingdom of God,
the Kingdom of
God is here,
We're alive for something
Eternal. We're gonna fight
the good fight,
Givin' it all for
the Savior's
sacrifice (Hey!)

ELW Hymn #855
Crown him with many crowns,
the Lamb upon his throne;
hark how the heav'nly anthem
drowns
all music but its own.
Awake, my soul, and sing
of him who died for thee,
and hail him as thy matchless king
through all eternity.
Crown him the virgin's Son,
the God incarnate born,
whose arm those crimson trophies
won
which now his brow adorn;
fruit of the mystic rose,
yet of that rose the stem,
the root whence mercy ever flows,
the babe of Bethlehem.
Crown him the Lord of love-behold his hands and side,
rich wounds, yet visible above,
in beauty glorified.
No angels in the sky
can fully bear that sight,
but downward bend their burning
eyes at mysteries so bright.
Crown him the Lord of life,
who triumphed o'er the grave
and rose victorious in the strife
for those he came to save.
His glories now we sing,
who died and rose on high,
who died, eternal life to bring,
and lives that death may die.
Crown him the Lord of years,
the potentate of time,
creator of the rolling spheres,
ineffably sublime.
All hail, Redeemer, hail!
For thou hast died for me;
thy praise and glory shall not fail
throughout eternity.

(p. 147 ELW)

church of God, and
for the unity of all, let

ELW)

I believe in God,
the Father almighty,
creator of heaven
and earth.
130
I believe in Jesus Christ,
God’s only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived
by the Holy Spirit,
born of the virgin Mary,
suffered under
Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died,
and was buried;
he descended to the dead.

131
On the third day
he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at
the right hand
of the Father,
and he will come to
judge the living and
the dead.
132
I believe in
the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection
of the body,
and the life everlasting.

what covenant

What hope

This, this is Christ the king,

Lift High the Cross
ELW Hymn #660
Lift high the cross,
the love of Christ
proclaim
till all the world adore
his sacred name.
Come, Christians,
follow where
our captain trod, our
king victorious,
Chris, the Son of
God.
Lift high the cross,
the love of Christ
proclaim
till all the world adore
his sacred name.
All newborn servants of the
Crucified bear on their brows
the seal of him who died.
Lift high the cross,
the love of Christ
proclaim
till all the world adore
his sacred name.
O Lord, once lifted
on the glorious
tree, as thou hast
promised,
draw us all to thee.
Lift high the cross,
the love of Christ
proclaim
till all the world adore
his sacred name.
So shall our song of triumph ever be:
praise to the Crucified for victory
Lift high the cross,
the love of Christ
proclaim
till all the world adore
his sacred name.
