MUMBAI MONORAIL
The Mumbai Monorail is the India’s 1
st
monorail project was implemented by the Mumbai Metropolitan
Region Development Authority (MMRDA), along with a consortium of Mumbai-based
conglomerate Larsen & Toubro and the Malaysian infrastructure firm Scomi Engineering Bhd.

2. Implementation of Signalling system was assigned to Ansaldo STS for the Mumbai Monorail project and
ASTS designed and developed the Signalling system; Train control system/Automatic Train Supervision
(TCS/ATS) system is Signalling sub-system which is designed to monitor & control the Train movements
& other equipment status under Red Hat Linux platform.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Installation of signalling system (TCS) at site and testing, software testing and debugging.
• Testing of system to user interface functional parameters and other system interface
specifications
• Development and testing software scripts under Linux platform to make easy maintenance of
TCS/ATS system.
• Design & implementation of TCS/ATS system to other system interface over a network.
• Testing and Commissioning of Signalling sub-system’s
a. Train Control System (TCS),
b. Processer Interlocking System (PBI),
c. Data Communication System (DCS).
d. Train Detection System (TDS)
• Testing & Commission of interface between TCS/ATS and
a. Passenger Information System (PIS),
b. Radio Interface Server (RIS),
c. Rolling Stock and Other systems.
• Validating the Signaling Subsystems Documents and generating the SOP and OJT on the
Signalling System.

3. • Involving in periodical Maintenance Signalling Subsystem
Train Control System (TCS), Interlocking Systems (PBI), Data Communication System (DCS),
Automatic Train Protection (ATP) and Train Detection System (TDS).
