several local city governments for allegedly
misusing the Special Education Fund (SEF)
allotted for the enhancement of government
education programs to improve the quality of
public education in their respective cities.
Local school boards of major cities such as
Makati, Manila, and Pasay have been reported
to have made “illegal expenditures” such as
school trips, electricity, water, and medical
supplies, among others.
