Temporary extensions of the Gloucester Road Refuse Collection Point blighted Causeway Bay since 1982. Before Government starts charging residents for collecting their waste, the mismanagement of waste handling needs to be fixed.
Blight of 'temporary' (1982) refuse facilities in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong
1. Why pay Government for managing
your waste?

2. Why would people be willing to pay for waste collection? Government must be seen
to provide an excellent service. The failure of our waste management service is
staring people in the face every day. Throughout the city, temporary Refuse
Collection Points (RCPs) are obvious eye sores.
A blatant example of mismanagement is the Gloucester Road Refuse Collection Point
(RCP) below the Canal Road Flyover. This unsightly collection of
rusted, dented, corrugated temporary structures has blighted Causeway Bay since
1982. Unfortunately, this story is repeated at many places throughout Hong Kong.
Let’s get these fixed before asking residents to pay for collecting their waste.
