Role Description Retail Management Graduate -All Departments D: Build bikes, they carry out pre-delivery inspections as well as general repairs and servicing Assistant Manager -Autocentres F: Ensure that all vehicles are tested in accordance with standards that are set out by the law. The role also involves servicing vehicles and fixing faults. Warehouse Operative-Logistics H: Ensure the Halfords website and other online platforms remain fresh and engaging and in line with the Halfords brand Retail Finance Director-Support Centre I: Responsible for managing incoming calls and emails from customers who need help. Thy diagnose issues and use their expertise to come up with the best course of action MOT Tester-Autocentres A: Responsible for picking bike stock in the distribution centre, they also offer assistance to other departments too. Auto Fitter-Retail C: They gain hands on training and experience across all aspects of the Halford’s business Digital Content Manager-Support Centre G: Responsible for fitting wiper-blades, car batteries and bulbs. They also carry out window- chip repair, fluid top-ups and do minor checks. Cycle Mechanic-Retail B: Overall responsibility for the site, they manage the jobs that are booked in and their colleagues, they also order the parts that are required to carry out repairs. Technical Support Advisor E: They review Halfords’ trading performance, identifying risks and opportunities to expand the business and track

ELECTRIC BIKE MARKETING CHALLENGE YOUR TASK In your teams, you will plan a Social Media Campaign to help make Electric Bikes more appealing to women WHAT YOUR TEAM WILL DO Choose which customer profile you’d like to aim your campaign at Mind-map ideas for your campaign, come up with ideas for posts, hashtags and a timings strategy Plan and rehearse a 4 minutes presentation on your campaign ideas. You’re no longer students but a group of Digital Marketing experts who have been asked to help the Digital Marketing Team grow the sales of Halfords’ range of Electric Bikes among the female demographic READY……STEADY……..GO!!!

TASK ONE Understanding your chosen group or ‘demographic’ • What would make riding an Electric Bike appealing to them? • What reservations might they have about riding an Electric Bike and how can you address them? • What images or words would they respond positively to? • What Social Media Platforms do they use? 5 MINUTES!
  20. TASK TWO Creating your Social Media Campaign • Give your campaign a name/hashtag • What will your campaign involve? Could you use a Snapchat filter or could be something as big as the Ice-Bucket challenge? Or a mixture of a few things? • What time of year will you launch your campaign and why? • Identify a partnership, this could either be with a shop or brand that your chosen demographic would like or could it be with a charity or service? 15 MINUTES!
