Introduction
Library automation is the general term for ICT
(information and communication technology) that is
use to replace manual system in library.
There are many system in library automation packages
available as open source s/w through they provide
advanced module like acquisition cataloguing
circulation OPAC etc. here we can see Kohl and
Newgenlib are they two library automation s/w.
Many activities of a library are routine in nature: few
are repetitive automation of these activities help in
managing.

the same time saving time money and manpower. On
the basis of study we can say that every s/w has some
negative and some positive points.
