From a survey of 16 people, the assistant found that there was an equal number of male and female respondents who were mostly aged 15-16. The most popular film genre was horror, which many teenagers enjoy watching in cinemas more than twice a month. Respondents indicated that entertaining camera shots, movement, and editing were most important to make a film opening captivating, along with showing main characters and title credits. The preferred typography was serif, a convention of horror films.

From asking 16 people, in my survey shows:
There is an equal amount of males and female therefore they will both be my intended audience.
The most popular age group is 16 and the 2nd popular age group 15. This is because lots of teenagers watch
films as entertainment.
The popular genre is horror. This shows a lot of teenagers love watching horror films compared to any other
genre.
Many people watch their favourite film genre in the cinemas more than twice a month. This tells me a lot of
people actually regularly do watch films in the cinema. This is helpful because I know these people know
what to expect to see from film openings therefore I can ask them for more accurate answers.
A lot of people like seeing a variety of camera shots/movement/editing such in order to make the film
opening seem more entertaining and captivating as possible. Followed by camera shots, some people also
like to see main characters and title credits.
The typography – Serif is the most popular. This was expected because most people favoured horror as their
favourite genre and serif is a convention to horror.
A lot of people said they expect to see other conventions in a film opening such as objects or anything that
isn’t typical/explicit to the genre. A minority preferred high/low key lighting, people and weapons.
